The New York Times...details U.S. forces in Iraq finding thousands of chemical weapons during the Iraq war. "From 2004 to 2011...troops repeatedly encountered, and on at least six occasions were wounded by, chemical weapons remaining from years earlier in Saddam Hussein’s rule," "In all, American troops secretly reported finding roughly 5,000 chemical warheads

Yes I agree with your comments. I would add this — everyone knew Iraq has chemical WMDs. That was well documented and he had had those for years. We didn’t go into Iraq over chemical WMDs. It was feared he had nukes or bio WMDs which were never found other than that empty bio trailer.

Bush could have played politics and said - see — they had chemical WMDs but everyone knew that already. He chose to play it honestly. He should have handled it better politically.

I think the key thing is — we never found nukes or bio agents but that doesn’t mean they were not there. There’s lots of sand in Iraq and we saw lots of trucks moving stuff to Syria. Bush should have said that just because we didn’t find them doesn’t mean they didn’t exist and never conceded the left’s premise.

Obviously you missed the hundreds of threads with the Freeper left all complaining about people voting for conservatives rather than liberal Republicans.

If your or anyone’s opinion is that Liberal Republicans are better than Liberal dems when their records are mirrors of each other, then yes, my principles are superior since Liberal Republicans are every bit the evil that liberal democrats are.

The founders did not set up a system to elect someone ‘no matter what’. They set up the system to elect principled (as in constitutional abiding) people to run the country/govern according to the constitution. Liberal Repubs do the polar opposite of that. If you disagree, so be it. Doesn’t change the reality or the truth.

The Poles found a big cache of rockets or missiles that were French made. The story was just left hanging.

You have nailed this one.

I also wonder if President Bush knew about the WMD’s. One of his big mistakes when he came to office is that he kept many of Clinton’s people in their positions. It is possible the info was suppressed and never got to him.

Not sure what I'm missing here. The entire world knew that Saddam had chemical weapons. He used them on the Kurds - the proof exists. The question was if he had nukes or processing yellow cake to make nukes. That was supposedly why we invaded Iraq. Everyone from Bush to Hillary to most Western leaders believed he was building nukes. I find it hard to believe that ALL the intel agencies around the world were wrong. Well, guess what Syria's Assad had been using.

Remember the satellite photos of convoys heading to Syria just weeks before the war started that most intel agencies figured to be WMD's.

What's the big surprise here about chemical weapons? Not surprised some of our Troops were exposed to them. In fact, I remember that our troops were trained with their gas masks/chem suits for such attacks. I don't see a coverup.

In hind sight, it probably would have been best to leave the sh*tbag Saddam in power to keep the jihadists from growing. I now think we could have just controlled him with targeted bombings like we did with Kaddafi in Libya. Kaddafi learned his lesson after Reagan targeted his home and even gave up his nuke ambitions. Barrack interfered in a civil war. Now look what we have there.

As for Aftganiscrap, they will never join civilization. Their tribal nature is too ingrained. I believe that's why ISIS has yet to bring them in to the fold. The tribes all want their little fiefdoms. Also, from what I've read, the Taliban is re-constituting, mostly along the border with Pakistan - our next problem unless India can keep them under control with the threat of annihilation, providing the jihad types don't take control of Pakistan.

The only good thing to come our of the so-called, "Arab Spring" was when Egypt kicked out their Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer president with a military coup. Ever here much about jihad problems in Egypt? Very little.

Don't even start me on Saudia Arabia. Pfft.

I heard him say over and over again that invading iraq was the right thing to do.

He still says it.

the media just shouts louder and calls Bush a liar but Bush has defended his decision over and over and over.

We didn’t give Iraq bioweapons. Iraq did manage to get various pathogens under the guise of medical and agricultural research but these were not weaponized, they were a sample pack available to almost any research facility.
That said, a fellow named Al Timimi, of an Iraqi family, and also connected to the same Falls Church cell as the paintball cell and the Ft Hood Shooter and several other terrorists since caught, was also involved in the Amerithrax investigation. OF all the various terrorists prosecuted by the US, he somehow managed to get handed multiple life sentences in the paintball case without actually killing anyone, and the press pretty much avoided coverage of his case.

"Ahh, the Slimes. Figuring out another way to blame George Bush.

Bush lied. People died.
Bush didn’t lie. People still died."

And that's really the point here: the underlying message to take home is "yes! of course there were WMD stockpiles, exactly as we were told, exactly as Congress believed, and exactly as Bush said.

The NYT has chosen - of course - to take the lowest possible road: suggesting a Bush cover-up, lying about WMD age, WMD types, on-going programs, whatever -- while at the same time finally coming clean (not really) about what they must have known for years themselves.

So look at us here: blaming Bush about not sticking up for himself (which has been part of his personality from Day 1 - it's not about him, and never has been).

Instead, let's put the blame where it belongs: on the media for not reporting the stories when they knew it, and not supporting a country and President during a war that needed to be won. And they're still doing that today.

It's not about Bush - it's about the Times' agenda.

“Not sure what I’m missing here.”

I don’t blame you. I can relate. Closest I can figure is this whole thing comes down to the leaders of all the major countries having their hands in the cookie jar along with many $$$$ international corps.

Each has info that could hurt the other severely on the homefront about their involvement so a state of MAD doctrine exists.

the press, always lapdogs for the libs are owned by these megacorps, thus to report accurately would condemn their companies and country of origin. CNN slipped a bit as did I think CBS admitting their censorship for access to Saddam a few years back but overall, the lid id tight.

So over time they have to write, rewrite and rewrite the facts as the situation evolves. At this point the entire reality has been fabricated, everyone has conflicting sourced and doced ‘facts’ and the entire circus moves foreward! into another lie.

You just made my case.

You might as well try to justify the meaning of is as try to identify with certainty the liberal republican, and the non liberal on any particular subject at any point in time.

You and yours own Obama, and if Herr Hitler was the choice?

Maybe that would be enough, and the “people” would finally see it your way?

I don’t think I missed any threads it was the usual cast of those wanting to ignore the reality of Obama.

Obviously we are at an impasse on the issue so we will have to agree to disagree, but I’m betting this is going to come up again a year from now during the next presidential election campaign.

I believe that some or possibly a lot of the WMDs were those we gave Saddam during his fight with the Iranians in the ‘80s. My guess.

Ladies and Gentlemen. let me introduce you to the October Suprise.

Of course there were WMD. The reason the Rats kept saying there were none was because Republicans hid them in the dessert and Bush covered it up. That’s why he didn’t argue with the rats.

Bush. Heh...I’ve said my piece on that POS and his progressive family and gotten flamed for it.

meyer: Your comment is apropos.

If you haven’t seen it, watch the smug SOB in this video state over & over, “I’m retired”.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy7tFjC2mKU

He’s not abandoned Conservatives (as the video implies); he never was one and, yes, he, Rove & the rest are complicit in paving the way for our current mess. The answer? I’m not preaching today; I think it’s been discussed ad naseam and is obvious to CONSERVATIVES.

The big questions:
Will they ‘act’?
and
Will legacy-republican party voters see the light, rather than letting the RATs continue to successfully split the majority in this country?

That means promoting & supporting the right candidates, not just ‘voting along party lines’ when called to civic duty... (which is what they’d like us all to do)

Well, plenty of us participated in threads like I mentioned with people spewing all sorts of ‘you’re a communist” remarks at people trying to get conservatives elected over hard liberals. Everyone here has seen them so no need to debate their existence.

Please explain how it is a prison sentence worthy action for a conservative to vote for those they believe will govern constitutionally. We;ll wait.

Also, please explain by what logic you believe that when two people share a mirror record, one is a superior choice based on an alphabetical letter following their name.

Example. Is “Smith-N” a better choice than “Jones U”?

If so, please explain.

Iraq also procured kidney dialysis machines in order to obtain switches for its nuclear program; while at the same time if the machines were denied the supplier would be blamed for deaths from kidney failure.
Unfortunately this can be said of all dual use chemicals. They are mostly easily available, have important and harmless industrial purposes, and denying them to Iraq would be viewed as a human rights violation as well as damaging to legitimate manufacturers.
Now delivery systems are another matter, they are not really dual use.

The Grey Whore is simply doing Obama's bidding here.

Obama wants cover for when ISIS uses WMDs and announces that they've been in Iraq all along.
