GOP: It's Probably in the Bag, but Stay Engaged
americanthinker.com ^ | 10/24/2014 | Lloyd Marcus

For crying out loud, GOP, please, please, please stand for something! There is a verse in the Bible that says, You are neither hot nor cold. You are lukewarm, and I spew you out of my mouth. Even God considers spineless, noncommittal, wimpy, lukewarm behavior distasteful.

Conservative-leaning media and pundits all over TV are predicting that the GOP will win big in a week or so; a majority in the U.S. Senate is almost a done deal.

However, I caution our side not to count our chickens before they hatch. Polls show that we have shaky narrow leads in some states and are trailing in other states that should have been solidly Republican seats (North Carolina, Georgia, Kansas – plus we are struggling in what was thought to be the safe South Dakota U.S. Senate race).

Mr. Marcus is WAY more optimistic than I am. Who thought that after the first 4 years of One Big Ass Mistake America that the lyin'king would burdern us with another 4? I underestimated the amount of dumbasses that voted. I shoulda known. In any case, we did early voting yesterday and there seems to a fair turnout here. We'll just wait and see what happens with the results on 11/4. I'm hoping we prevail but I'm not holding in any "See-Uh-O-2" in the meantime.

Here’s the thing ... if they DO manage to eek out a win, 2016 is going to be a MEGA disaster because as the electorate keeps changing, they will still think that doing the same thing will work.

I don’t care WHO wins in 2 weeks. It does not matter. There is disaster on the horizon and the GOPe are ill equipped to thwart it.

I’m not sure what he thinks is “in the bag.” The GOP will net +4 seats in the Senate.

Unless he means “continued minority status” is in the bag.

When the count’s in, it’s in the bag. If an only if, the count supports it.

This speculation is... well just not worth considering at this point.

I like this. God don't do wimpy.

“GOP: It’s Probably in the Bag, but Stay Engaged”

Funny, this is reported as a comment by the GOP.

Of course we refer to them as the GOPe.

And that begs this question? Whose bag?

Which side are they really on?

I daresay the goal is NOT to thwart it...

Revelations, IIRC.

Even libbies are saying the GOP will get the Senate.

Regardless, I don’t see it helping aside from possibly delaying liberal SCOTUS retirements.

I’m not so confident. At this point in October 2012 MANY people were predicting a Romney win. The country’s demographics are changing rapidly. The old rules are out the window.

The GOP deserves to lose, and lose hard:

The Parable of the Talents
(Matthew 25:14-30)
“For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away.

He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money.

Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’

His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’

But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
We gave them the House of Representatives (and before that the presidency) and they have done nothing to further our goals, indeed they have often worked against our goals — throw them out.

In the bag Lloyd? Um, I’m more concerned with what’s in the Democrats’ bag as in their bag of tricks which include vote stealing, voter intimidation, media manipulation, etc. Nothing is in the bag when dealing with Democrats and their lust for power and control.

The truth is our Republican House members in Congress have been passing bills that, for the most part, we all would agree with. They send them to the Senate and Harry Reid does NOTHING. And then, he and Obama opens their yaps and proclaim from on high that Republicans are the problem and are causing all of the gridlock.

If all we did was replace Harry Reid with anyone with an R behind their name, we might not get everything done that we need, but we would be able to a least stomp the brakes more than once on Obama total encroachment.

Hussein already believes that Republicans are the stones in his path to nirvana. It would be great if those stones became one, huge, fricking boulder - whether or not they passed everything we wanted.

Exactly. We lose GA, NC, WI and 1 more. Plus we lose the Gov in FL to add insult to injury. GOP peaked too soon.

--here's my cynical take-

-thanks to Demo cheating , lackluster Repub campaigning, and this "counting the chickens before they hatch"--the Demos keep control of the Senate and if it comes to that, Harry Reid and company refuse to seat any disputed candidates in January---

It is inconceivable to me that the rats would hold the Senate and only fraud or idiocy can bring this about - both of which are in play. But then it was also inconceivable to me that zero would be re-elected - which is why fraud and idiocy can’t be discounted.

My thoughts to explain the GOP’s lack of firm convictions is that partly its the result of not wanting get in the way of opponents who are trashing themselves.

What's it going to take for the moderators to ban you? Tell you what. Let's play a game, Concern Troll. Let's see how far you can push it without getting banned. Try saying you are for Obamacare, you want guns banned, you want a third Obama term, and so on. Keep escalating it until the moderators finally ban you. Let's see how far it can go.

Laz, the Eeyores are out in force this week. Damn, I suppose these would be the same spineless give up hopesters who’d allow the ISIS to takeover Washington, DC because there’s no hope of ever righting that ship? What difference would it make? Right you weenies?

I just looked at the early voting results here in Corpus Christi, the seat of Nueces County, TX. The results are looking GREAT. The absentees cast alone are 5X that of 2010! 5 Times ! And who is it that casts absentees? That’s right, US.
The polling locations in the usual Dem neighborhoods are reporting early voting in the range of 10-69 voters. Not much enthusiam from the left side I’d say. Wendy Davis wont bring them out.

To those of you who have given up, I am ashamed, to those of you tools of the Left, twerk-off!
