A nurse who was being quarantined at a New Jersey hospital after working with Ebola patients in Sierra Leone criticized her treatment on Saturday as an overreaction after an initial test found that she did not have the virus.

“I am scared about how health care workers will be treated at airports when they declare that they have been fighting Ebola in West Africa,” the nurse, Kaci Hickox, wrote in an essay on the website of The Dallas Morning News, in collaboration with a friend who works for the paper. “I am scared that, like me, they will arrive and see a frenzy of disorganization, fear, and most frightening, quarantine.”

She described being held in isolation for about seven hours at Newark Liberty International Airport on Friday, left alone for long stretches and given only a granola bar when she said she was hungry.

This seems to be the hippie way... get involved ‘cause it’s COOOOOL. Well it’s uncool to come home and spread deadly germs around. At least ma’am, you should have planned a self quarantine into this.

The “I want to be a hero syndrome” collides with “F*ck America syndrome” .

Stick them in a quarantine room with all the weed they can smoke and a large flat screen with a Portlandia marathon running. Happy as a clam.

Early, in the 1800’s, states were given the right to quarantine in a landmark court case. In those days they had smallpox.

I do feel sorry for her. However, other so called healthcare heroes have broken self quarantine. We can’t risk it. Really sorry.

Boo freakin’ hoo. Don’t want to be quarantined, don’t go to Africa. It’s as simple as that.

Couldn’t watch it, but that sounds about right. What a bunch of hypocrites. Treacherous, treasonous hypocrites. Wail and moan about introducing smallpox to America, but couldn’t care less about introducing Ebola.

This hysteria is a complete insult to all Americans who rely on our Gov
and MSM to GIVE A DAMN and not bamboozle us all into knee jerk compliance.

All this hysteria is a total fabrication of scare tactics that only serves DC
for the purpose of taking away our God Given Rights. This time it almost worked
but they couldn't get enough cases fast enough so they had to invent them!!!!
Expect Obola to keep the fast train active from those countries of Obolanites
to attempt to expedite the infection process.

Damn you bastards.. And wasn't there a story about HER HEALTH DECLINING?
What the hell was that all about, oh yea, MORE BS!

How many chumps are still buying this crap?

Infinite compassion for strangers eight thousand miles away. None for her fellow Americans. Plenty of contempt and disdain though.

Yup.

She can go ahead and follow her heart and minister to people in need, but that does not mean the rest of us want to share the magic of any unintended viral hitchhikers she or others may pick up along the way.

As for “frightening”, hello? Out of control epidemic involving a hemorrhagic fever?!

She really wouldn’t like it if I was in charge...I would deny her entry or quarantine her for 30+ days...

Ms. Hickox’s mother said she had sent her daughter a text message asking if she thought she would be detained when she returned home: “She texted back: LOL that’s not going to happen.”

Yeah, she was aware of possibly being detained and she laughed? Guess she worked up to being bitchy about it. I have little sympathy after seeing that.
