Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) told Chuck Todd today that the reason Barack Obama is unpopular in Louisiana because the state is full of racists and sexists.
“And, number two, to be very, very honest with you the South is not always the friendliest place for African Americans. It’s been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a very positive light as a leader. It’s not always been a good place for women to be able to present ourselves. It’s a conservative place.”
Governor Bobby Jindal (an Indian American) released a statement in response to the outrageous attack.
“She appears to be living in a different century,” he said in a statement. “Implied in her comments is the clear suggestion that President Obama and his policies are unpopular in Louisiana because of his ethnicity. That is a major insult by Senator Landrieu to the people of Louisiana and I flatly reject it.“
Assuming she can get white voters out.
And blacks who can see how she holds Obama at a distance, may not feel all that warm and fuzzy about coming out for her.
What about the folks who voted AGAINST Obama’s WHITE half? What would she call them?
