With just a few days remaining before the midterm elections, the Democrats are limping to the finish line. We are in the closing days of the 2014 campaign, and in Democratic campaigns across the country, none of the real issues are being discussed. There is no justification for the Democrats to declare there is peace and prosperity, and certainly none of them are promoting a message of hope and change. The Democrats campaigns have been a series of denials, comical disassociation and outright clumsy lies that will only further alienate voters from the political process.
Say what you want to about the Republicans lack of a message, but the Democrats the party in power are clearly exhausted. Starting with the White House, they have nothing affirmative to say, and the final days of campaigning appear to be more about who is to blame rather than how to turn out the vote. In some of the closest races around the country, the Democrats are desperately attempting to hold on to power.
Senator Mary Landrieu is throwing in the towel. She dealt the race and gender cards all in one desperate hand in an interview with NBCs Chuck Todd, where she claimed that the people who elected her in the past have actually been sexist all along. And, she blames racism for the presidents unpopularity in Louisiana not his incompetence, the stagnant economy or the presidents anti-oil and gas agenda that has such a big impact on the state. She appears to be auditioning for a job with the Obama Administration (which wont require her to return to Louisiana anytime soon.) I wonder if she has already whispered to the White House where she would like to serve as an Ambassador.

Ignore goldstategop; he/she/it has surrendered and will have no impact except to try to influence others with his/her/its miasma, i.e., trolling. I’m from SoCal and I voted. It probably won’t matter for the state wide offices, but it will count for local elections and the propositions.
Then stop complaining. Shuddup about it.
Because the only thing necessary to win is to be marginally different. There is a certain number of seats and administrative and lobbying positions. The players don't care what label they wear, as long as they have some power - and note that "power" is not the same as being in control or getting your way. Even the losers/minority side make out like bandits.
There are a few bright spots though. I'm fairly jazzed about voting LePage for governor. I won't give Collins my vote. She's going to win without any help from me. Heck, even the unions up here have endorsed her.
Not to mention passing corporate tax reduction which will move the economy. C'mon...this is better than REID for Heaven's sake!!
And its not the party and its lack of principles, a direction and a sense of urgency about this country’s problems?
My abstention is a protest vote against that and their dereliction of duty. I submit as long as the GOP is the way it is - it is part of the problem not part of the solution.
It despises the base. It will use them to get their votes but after the election nothing will change. We’ll get back to “reaching across the aisle” and “bipartisanship.”
And I’m supposed to lend all that my approval tomorrow? I do not think so and moreover the Democrats’ destruction of the country has been made possible by Republicans going along with it.
Good Post. Everybody is responsible for knowing what has created our mess and when we get a chance to correct it.
Plenty of FReepers would kick Ronald Reagan himself to the curb in this election.
They are very self-centered and believe their crap doesn’t stink. Well, it does.
GodSpeed
Good luck with it.
If you really believe that, Mitch McConnell is laughing at you all the way to the Majority Leader’s office.
What makes you think it will happen? I have zero expectations from the GOP gang.
DEPOPULATE socialists/RINOS from the body politic.
C’mon Tuesday (another chance at a 1st step instead of no steps forward, all steps back)
(interesting thread)
Yeah, good for you.
Don’t have high expectations and complain next summer I’m right.
“Im not voting precisely because of a Republican lack of message.”
It seems you really like Dingy Harry...
I Nominate you to start the “Harry Reid Victory Thread” if the Republicans don’t take the Senate.
It will be a doozy.
I’m voting, but not voting in races like you mention. Lamar Alexander won’t miss my vote though. Steven Fincher won’t either, nor Gov Haslam. There are though, four amendments to the state constitution on the ballot that are important. I will vote
The GOP is expected to win.
But will it be a win that sets this country on the right path?
Voting against Obama feels good. I’m more interested in the future.
All the same, thanks for wasting your time being snarky.
I bet Mary makes a really nice shrimp ettouffe. I bet it’s irresistible.
>> I bet Mary makes a really nice shrimp ettouffe.
I bet Mary’s colored cookwoman makes a really nice shrimp etouffee, whenever Mary orders her to.
I bet Mary herself can’t even boil water. Or pour pee out of a boot.
So how about the Dims message.....Obamacare, IRS. NHS snooping, Fast and Furious, ISSL ...etc....
and your local dims promoting illegal aliens, abortion and more taxes...
I guess you approve all of that
Oh gee, don’t get all worked up over my little comment.
I don’t support Democrats, never, ever, not a one.
By your self admitted actions, you do.
Teaching the GOP a lesson by forcing everyone to survive under the Thumb of Socialist Democrats will not help you achieve what you think you will achieve by gifting your precious Vote to a Rat.
How about we get back in power and work to change the GOP from a position of strength, rather than forfeiting the Game without a fight?
