Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) predicts that there will be enough support for immigration reform in a GOP-led Congress.

According to the Associated Press, "Ryan said that as long as Obama doesn't try an executive order in November or December and works with Congress," immigration legislation can be enacted.

Original Sin has so wrapped us that even saints exercise great power over others at the peril of their own souls.

What’s the point in electing Republicans if this is what we get? Seems all a GOP victory brought is the chance to have liberal, destructive policies shoved down our throats by clowns with “R” instead of “D” next to their names.

Here’s “constructive immigration reform”

Seal the southern border

It ends there.

What does he mean by “constructive immigration reform” if he means amnesty, no thanks. If he means an actual immigration reform process (e.g. strengthening our borders but making it easier for LEGAL immigrants to come here) then maybe it is worthwhile.

"Immigration reform" is as always a euphemism for amnesty. It's like calling a tax hike a "revenue adjustment." The use of the term "reform" is designed to distract attention from the fact that the system we have isn't really in need of reform, it's in need of enforcement. So we have these political charlatans telling us that we need "reform" because it saves them the trouble of doing something about enforcing the legitimate laws that are already on the books.

As for simplifying legal immigration, I guess that depends on who we let in. If we simply open the gates to all of the riffraff from Mexico and the rest of the Third World, no thanks. If it means simplifying the red tape to allow a small and select number of people with skills, education, and the potential to assimilate into US society, by all means.

Lame Duck weevil a$$ed RINO! The least he could do is assure that the border is closed and secure, and then follow current law.

What an Asshaole!

I am starting to wonder if this attempt to Grant executive amnesty is a bluff. What they are really doing is giving GOP corporatist cover to pass amnesty. “Our people” can say they just did to prevent a worst case.

We don’t need immigration reform, we need a government that enforces existing laws.

The establishment wants the USA stuffed to the gills with cheap labor and low information voters, and if they can’t speak English, or wish to understand and be part of our historic culture, all the better for the establishment.

Politicians have spent decades purposely turning us into a 3rd world country instead of practicing common sense that would have made us a better stronger nation. Our ever more affluent country once enabled succeeding generations and kids to do better. It allowed the senior generation to sell their homes for a profit to the younger. Who is going to buy your most expensive asset such as your house if the establishment pols get what they want?

Too many average Americans are convinced that one Party or the other will be their ticket to economic success. They need to reexamine reality. One Party wants cheap labor and the other an expanded voting base. My bet is the establishment inevitably will convince BOTH Parties to out amnesty each other on the belief that it will win the election in 2016 (or 2020), while screwing the country.

We need to reign in DC.
