There’s an old, abandoned gas station near here that still has its sign up showing regular gasoline at 67¢ a gallon.

Gas prices drive the economy. I'm convinced. If gas drops below $2.50 for an extended period of time, I believe things are going to boom. The trick is that we have to get it to stay low. Look at the 2007-2008 time preceding the financial crisis.

Thought you were posting earthquake Richter scale readings at first.

I’ve seen 2.759 here in Charlotte, 2.729 at my BJ’s.

Been dropping a nickle every 4 or 5 days for a while. I’ve been getting premium for 2.99 in Westminster, 2.63 ish for regular and $3.01 for non-ethanol gasoline.

Is that the crook in the curve where low fuel prices precedes economic boom while proceded by an economic bust? That was a long bust cycle — mostly driven by war costs. Are we experiencing positive unintended consequences from Obama’s mid-east mistakes (or policy for those inclined to believe).
