Editorial-John Kerry: Our Historic Agreement With China on Climate Change
New York Times ^ | November 11, 2014 | John Kerry

Posted on 11/13/2014 2:17:40 AM PST by lbryce

The United States and China are the world’s two largest economies, two largest consumers of energy, and two largest emitters of greenhouse gases. Together we account for about 40 percent of the world’s emissions.

We need to solve this problem together because neither one of us can solve it alone. Even if the United States somehow eliminated all of our domestic greenhouse gas emissions, it still wouldn’t be enough to counteract the carbon pollution coming from China and the rest of the world. Likewise, even if China went down to zero emissions, it wouldn’t make enough of a difference if the United States and the rest of the world didn’t change direction.

That’s the reality of what we’re up against. That’s why it matters that the world’s most consequential relationship has just produced something of great consequence in the fight against climate change.

Today, President Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping are jointly announcing targets to reduce carbon emissions in the post-2020 period. By doing this – together, and well before the deadline established by the international community – we are encouraging other countries to put forward their own ambitious emissions reduction targets soon and to overcome traditional divisions so we can conclude a strong global climate agreement in 2015.

Of great consequence. He really means of no consequence..

Our historic agreement. Oh, it's historic, all right. Somebody is getting scammed on a level historically unprecedented.

Which senators will approve the treaty?

Yeah, it’s a dead-on-arrival at the senate.

China doesn’t need to do anything until 2030 in this “agreement”. And we all know we can trust China.

They continue to push the CO2 scam despite it has been debunked with REAL science, logic and history.

Yet a big group of “STUPID” Americans will cheer this phony garbage.

I live in Panama City Beach Florida. I see a huge ocean freighter come into port here about once a week and load up on wood pellets that are produced just north of here. They go to China where they burn them to cook and in stoves to heat their houses. Yeah right John Kerry....we are going to get them to reduce carbon emissions....bwahahahaha

Just another way to waste money that should be either kept by the people who earn it or at least spend on national defense.

Yes - we have come together.

The US cuts cheap fossil energy usage by 28% by 2025, while China continues to *increase* cheap fossil energy usage through 2030?

Yes, this is clearly reason to celebrate. We increase our energy costs, while Chinese industry and citizens continue to enjoy unfettered cheap fossil energy development for another 2 decades.

Yep, only Obama and Kerry could have driven such a hard bargain with the Chinese.

We need to solve this problem together because neither one of us can solve it alone.

We need to pretend to solve this pseudo problem together because neither one of us can solve it alone. John Kerry continues his lifelong quest to charge windmills with nobody behind him, no science, no facts, just unsupported assertions by lawyers and paid scientists.

Nothing new here is there?

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Now stop making so much sense!

I’m sitting here in SW Ohio and many, many, many moons ago we were covered with a 2-mile thick glacier.

It then became so warm that the 2-mile thick glacier melted back to the Artic.

Thanks to all the humans back then for all that exhaling of CO2 that caused the melting.

Oh, but wood pellets are RENEWABLE (stare at you navel and chant “Ooooommmmmm”) energy.... GREEN (”Oooommmmmm”) energy..... SUSTAINABLE (”Ooooo- “ you know the routine).

IOW, burning Wood Pellets produces CO2 which becomes PLANT FOOD for MORE trees & MORE Wood Pellets.

SUSTAINABLE (”Ooooo -” Oh shut up already) got it!
