Ukraine owned about 50 fighters before the war, no telling how few were operational. They also had about 18 SU-25 ground attack planes before the war. I don’t know how many were operational or how many have been shot down.
Tomorrow they will produce photographs of the Mig-29’s pilot, all zoomed in, with Swastikas emblazoned on his helmet and a copy of Mein Kampf in his hand as he pulls the trigger.
If they focused on the ground, the aircraft would have probably been out of focus, is my point. I’m no expert on that though.

The Ukrainians have some of that experience, too.

Inset picture looks to be area over a mile in length,
so the airliner is about 8-10 miles from inset area.
The size of airliner in picture makes it seem about
10-15 times actual size in relation to the scale of
