Perhaps because immigration enforcement is a Federal prerogative. I believe that Arizona tried a legislative approach along these lines just a few years ago and were slapped down by the courts.

Excellent idea!
What Governors should do is say they won’t honor those newly issued work permits in their state.

Exactly time to bring back Federalism-the only problem is that work visas ARE issued by the Federal Govt.

Is there any way that a State could shut down/ stop the issuance of green cards in their State? If so there might be a way to stop this before it gets started. Oh and by the way, the employees could refuse to obey an illegal order and not issue them. Put their names on the internet if they choose to issue the permits and let their friends and neighbors tell them what they think of them.

if 2/3rds - we’ll be there.

Since Obama has violated the constitution, governors have the power and duty to arrest federal agents and workers who are working in their state under the 10th amendment.

US Constitution, Art 10, clause 3: No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power,
or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay. If this is not an invasion and/or imminent Danger, what is?

I’m no lawyer.
If I were governor, I’d announce that 0b0z0’s EO’s are null and void in my state. Any punishment to my state would be met by my EO’s retaliating against the Feds.
No federal money to my state, sure, no Fed taxes collection from my state, period.
Same courts who agree with his EO’s will have to agree with mine!

All the states that take issue with Obama’s executive amnesty, should come to a reciprocity agreement that illegals captured in one state’s territory could be transported through the “friendly states” to the other side of the Mexican border.
It’s time for the states to begin pushing the envelope.
