Once the grand jury makes its decision on whether to charge Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, members will go back to their everyday lives.
KMOX News wanted to know about the safety of those jurors given the high-profile case and the strong emotions surrounding it.
Washington University law professor Peter Joy says despite safeguards, no system is 100 percent fool-proof.

The time to announce was during the extreme cold a few days ago. The fact that they let that opportunity pass shows that something else is going on.

There is irony that there is effort expended to maintain Juror privacy, and then in weeks or months, some will come out of hiding with their books and “The View” interviews.
If Holder was running the show it would have been release last night or tonight.
Generally, coworkers and family know someone is on the Grand Jury. In my state you serve for a couple years. They are out a few days every month.
But you don’t know which cases the person is serving on.
The Grand Jury isn't the same as jury duty for a particular case.

Laws today are for suckers. The bad guys in power scoff at the “law”.

School districts asked that the decision not be announced on a school day or if the following day was a school day. They are rightfully concerned about the safety of children while they’re in school or in route from school to home.
It makes sense to announce it leading into a holiday week in which most schools are closed from noon Wed. through Fri.
If the decision is announced tomorrow, I imagine all h*** will break loose on Mon. and Tues., but then the agitators will disperse for the holidays and it will be difficult to get them revved up again once the holiday is over.
Why are people still being allowed to protest when they don't live there? It's insane to be assuming that there will be chaos, and somehow that's okay.
Uh, wow. Where to start? I suppose the beginning is the best place. This is not a democracy. It is a republic. What you are actually seeing being applied are the principles of a democracy - also known as mob rule.
As for the protests "should not have been allowed before the decision"... "Allowed"? What? We don't "allow" protests. The first amendment is a fundamental part of the Constitution. Now, that's not to say that looting or other criminal behavior should be tolerated, but they can protest whatever the hell they want as far as I'm concerned. Incitement, is also a different thing that should be dealt with. If we were actually seeing a republican form of government in action, they could protest all they want, and it wouldn't have an effect on the outcome of the deliberations. Instead, I'd not be at all surprised to see the GJ bow to the demands of the mob, trying to force it's 'democratic justice'.

Again, it's the first amendment. "Allow" should have nothing whatsoever to do with it, as long as they are not breaking the law.
OTOH, if they decide to really get their mob on, I say that looters should be shot on sight without hesitation.
Mobocracy wasn’t what the ancient Greeks had in mind with their democracy.
They weren’t setting up a contest where whoever could gin up the most dramatic activism would sweep the place. It was more like a fair plebiscite. They felt that good reason would prevail among most people.
Trouble with today is that political activity is purely voluntary. If our system required everybody to vote, not just allowed it, it would probably look a lot more conservative than it does today.
Under your scenario, it could be that they DID make the decision a week or more ago, and were released to get back to their lives with enough time passing before the announcement that their return wouldn’t be connected with the end of their jury duty.
The only ones who really care about who the jurors are are the ‘leaders’ of the mobs, i.e. Sharpton Crump, etc. The average rioter really only cares about the “free stuff” s/he can extract from local businesses.
