Governor Jay Nixon refused to give Ferguson National Guard protection to punish them for refusing to fire Darren Wilson and chief of police Tom Jackson, Gotnews.com has learned.

The MO Lt Governor was on FNC this morning saying basically the same things. Said the governor and his staff were all unreachable by the Ferguson mayor and has not communicated with the Lt Governor during this entire crisis.
So, regardless of the questionable source for this thread, the info appears to be true.
You could look it up.
Since schools/etc. were closed, what would it have mattered to release the info the NEXT morning? Then, the police/NG would have all day to ‘dig-in’. A LOT harder to loot/steal/etc. when in the light of day.
Proconsul or Satrap? It’s hard to decide.
Can not the Missouri legislature investigate this? If found liable they can impeach Nixon. Democrats love to impeach Nixon, why not do it again?
whether he took orders from he hero of benghazi or decided to withhold the guard on his own, he should resign or be recalled and be held criminally liable.
Some of the MO government seem to have been compromised.
This Nixon is all-Democrat all the time; the other one was hesistant to stand up for Republicanism. Both had disastrous administrations.
MO people have voted for this Nixon over and over but backed Richard M. Nixon too except in 1960.
I love how everyone not in STL KNOWS exactly what has gone here this week. All the schools in STL county weren’t closed; despite what everyone thinks. There were colleges, and surrounding communities that held school.
Honestly, as far as riots/protests go this one is kind of wimpy. The LA riots were much more exciting to be near. That’s not taking away from the losses of those who lost everything. Still, as I said, not quite the apocalyptic scale the media is making it out to be.

I heard the LG on Fox too and he made no statement of fact that the lack of deploying the Guard to Ferguson was all about punishment.
Perhaps you should listen closer rather than accuse others of comprehensive ignorance.
Good points. However, if the thinking was really that...that they expected such carnage and so delayed the announcement to avoid those people being caught up in it, then deploying the Guard to protect businesses and life in Ferguson would have been done in advance so that with the announcement, the guard was in place. But he did not do that. IMHO, he can't have it both ways.
And couldn't the Gov be sued for damages by the businesses that were burned down?
In my mind as important as the why is the WHO.
This was not a refusal to bring in the NG. A refusal implies a request. No request was made because no one was answering the mayor’s calls. The mayor has said no one answered his calls that evening; not only could he not reach Nixon, he could not reach any of Nixon’s staff.
Who made the decision to ignore the repeated attempts of the Mayor of Ferguson to contact the governor?
Was it a staff member who made the decision? If so, who? This person should be named and dismissed immediately.
Was it Nixon himself? Did he tell staff members not to even answer the phone if the Mayor called? Did he think he was giving himself plausible deniability? “I would have sent the NG in earlier had I heard from the Mayor.” If that was the case, he did not think it through because the next question to be asked would be if that was the case, why didn’t he call the mayor?
Did the directive not to answer calls from the mayor come from the WH? I can hear the accusation now. It is what conservatives do best, make everything about Obama. It is an accusation easily debunked because we know Nixon was in constant contact with Valerie Jarrett that night.
That in & of itself needs to be explored. What information did Jarrett pass on to the Obama? Are we to believe she & Nixon were phone buddies that evening and she left Obama out of the loop? Ferguson burning and no one told the President? IIRC, it has been claimed Obama did not watch the DA’s announcement of the verdict. So someone told him. He gave his statement at 10:00 pm....and then what? Go to bed? (Benghazi redux?). Why didn’t he have someone contact the mayor to see what assistance was needed?
The left wants to keep this focused on race. My opinion is that the story of Michael Brown is over. The DOJ wants to keep it alive by their continuing investigations into non-existent civil rights violations.
The story and focus needs to shift to the decision not to assist the Mayor of Ferguson and the business owners who lost their businesses, who made the decision and the end result.
Keep the focus on that and there is no telling who will be exposed.
The Lt Gov has said the media in MO is catching on. They are asking the right questions. Hearings in MO will commence soon into the New Year. He threw down a gauntlet of sort, publicly reminding the Gov and staff, etc. it is a crime to destroy emails, logs, etc of any documents which could potentially be used as evidence in any investigation.
Don’t know much about MO politics. Not sure if Nixon has as much control over his staff as Obama has over his. If was a connection between Nixon and the WH and the decision to ignore any calls from the Mayor of Ferguson, how many on the state level will take the fall to protect the WH?
I don't know. I do know that the courts in this country, generally speaking, are compromised. They are about activism, not Justice. whether or not the business owners can sue and whether they can win will depend on whether obama wants them to or not. That's where we're at now IMO. Not much happens that obama can't control. We are oppressed. Those business owners may as well be white as far as obama abd Holder are concerned.
