A Massachusetts school board has banned the term Christmas Break due to one familys complaint.
Back in September, Marshfield Schools approved a name change from Christmas Break to Holiday Break.
Since then, more than 4,000 people have signed a petition, urging the schools to reconsider.
This week, the school board voted to keep the name change.

I cannot tell you how often this happens in the schools - ONE person complains in the school office and entire traditions, policies and schedules are radically and immediately overhauled.
A single secular Jewish liberal or some vicious homo.
Vote ‘em out.

So the words "vote" and "school board" are in the same sentence, right?
And the implication for the voters is there in front of their faces, right?
Or are they too sheep-like to get the connection between voting and school boards?
Disgusting cowards
By the time school board election time rolls around, few if any of the 4000 petitioners will remember which school board members voted for what and will vote those same people back in again.
Yes, that’s what they are counting on.
It doesn’t matter who the person who complained is. The Administration wanted to make the change, and the one complaint is just a pretext to create the illusion that they give a crap about who they serve.
One person should complain in the opposite direction, and make them change it back.
So does the parent plan to send his kid to school during the Christmas break? Can’t have it both ways- send little Johnny to class to sit there all by himself if they choose not to acknowledge that it is a Christmas break.
Is it really that big a deal?
They should name it "Break with No School Because of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named."
If they change it because of ONE complaint, why not change it back because of multiple complaints for changing it! F*ckin' liberals! Can't please them!
Those 4000 families should take their children out of the ungodly government schools. How can you allow your children’s faith to be undermined .using your tax dollars??? Jesus requires you to “bring up your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
Leave the word holiday out it. They really should be known as the December, February, April and Summer Break. Yes there are reasons for when they are scheduled such as December Break is scheduled so Christians can prepare for and celebrate Christmas, which is a major U.S. and world holiday. And because families like to travel home at Christmastime, schools are closed in December. If they want to change the time of the break then there is a big problem. Call it December School Vacation and wish them a Merry Christmas! or Happy Birth of Jesus!
Then they should turn it back to a Christmas Break when one person complains. If they don’t, then double that to two complaints and continue until the majority rules again. Parents fail to understand they run the school, not the other way around. Parents elect the state officials. Parents pay school taxes. Parents elect school board members. Parents run the PTO. Parents can have come to Jesus meetings with the superintendant and principals. Parents can volunteer to get first hand knowledge of what is actually going on inside their children’s classrooms. Parents can write to the editor of the local newspaper. Since protests are all rage, parents can protest against all these ridiculous pc stances the schools cave to.
When our kids were in school, at least twice a year I made the school back down from silly rule changes with as little as a phone call. Maybe the phone call was to the principal. Maybe the phone call was to a local business that would see their profits hit because of idiotic change in school policy. Maybe it was a phone call to a board member. Maybe it was a phone call to a couple other parents to in turn made a few calls. Too many parents can’t be bothered to dial a phone for their kids’ sake.
Sorry, only works in one direction... whether one complaint or 4000 complaints, gotta be in the direction of the School Board Agenda.
When it’s changed over 1 complaint, you know that the administrators wanted to change it.
It’s analogous to the Administrations “sue and settle” policy for the EPA.
