Republicans dismiss impeachment, say it would ‘martyr’ Obama

Unsuccessful attempt could undermine GOP efforts to reverse amnesty order

Capitol Hill Republicans have furiously denounced President Obama’s executive action on immigration as illegal, unconstitutional and an abuse of the power of his office — but they get skittish when the talk turns to impeachment.

Even Rep. Steve King, one of the most fiery opponents of the president’s “executive amnesty” for illegal immigrants, backed away from his previous calls for impeachment.

“I don’t want to do the ‘I’ word. Nobody wants to throw the nation into that kind of turmoil,” the Iowa Republican told CNN immediately following Mr. Obama’s executive action.

I’m not afraid of Ferguson tactics, lawlessness anti American spoiled brats and their media promoters, including and especially ROS.

It’s about reality and martyrdom.

And Bill BJ Clinton

You forget they have to compensate for the RINOs/GOPe that won’t vote to convict. I make it they need 17 Dem yes votes after the Republicans take over in January.

I don’t know.
Like I previously “opined,” Biden would have to be the key.

As ol’ BJ Clinton demonstrated, impeachment without a conviction is utterly pointless.

17 would be a stretch.

Yeah, that’s kind of the point.

A much better option? Defund the White House as much as possible and watch him go absolutely ballistic when he gets told ‘we don’t have money for you to fly to a golf appointment.’

Then when he does something insane and his own party starts throwing him under the bus, well... then you can get a conviction.

Excellent point: you can tell on both sides of the aisle who has blackmail facing them, and those who DON’T.

SOME members are compromised and some are fighting like hell.

Coincidentally it is TEA who is fighting like hell.

RINOs are just trying not to get sucked out of the plane.

There's a reason Obama's people have been inviting the GOP to impeach him: if they do, he wins unconditionally. And the GOP loses completely.

So... this is a sort of "brier patch" to them?

I'm still interested in the eligibility issue. It hasn't gone away.

Oh, and as another poster has said, BO isn't like Nixon and Clinton. That is true. Nixon and Clinton were Americans who were Constitutionally eligible for the office and legitimately elected. They were therefore also eligible for impeachment. They were part of our legitimate government, and impeachment didn't result in the fall of that government.

I am of the opinion that Obama is damaged goods and due to the make up of the Senate, will NEVER be removed from office. Therefor, expending limited resources on his impeachment is counter productive. However, impeaching those who are, and were under his administration (Holder, Hilary, Louis, etc) would be far more productive.

Every time I see Obola double-timing it down the steps of Air Force One all arrogant as hell I wish he’d skippy-trip, tumble down to the bottom and go meet his maker (in hell) - departure due to a broken scrawny neck. Oh there would be conspiracy theories but mostly it would be a clumsy tragic accident. Problem solved. Buh-bye!!

Impeachment is not going to happen. He’s got two years to raise hell and he’s off to a great start.

Ok. You probably know this. But Nixon was NOT IMPEACHED.

b.j. clinton was only the second american president in HISTORY to be impeached. Nixon was not impeached, although the news media like to bring up his name with b.j. clinton.

In fact, I saw a news program where zero’s picture was placed next to nixon’s and the headline was about impeachment.... although nixon was never, ever, ever impeached. Isn’t it interesting that zero’s picture wasn’t placed next to b.j. clinton’s photo when the entire program was regarding impeachment??? The main stream media fails to mention b.j. whenever impeachment is part of the conversation, yet nixon is brought up every. single. time.

Please do not continue to support the worldview of the main stream media. That’s the reason FR exists... to counter the lies and misinformation that’s fed to the liv.

Democrats are going to treat the piece of crap Obama like the second coming of MLK no matter what we do. We should do to him exactly what we did to Clinton. Run his name through the mud. Use impeachment to air his dirty laundry for everybody to see. Ruin any chance he has of accomplishing anything at all for the rest of his “Presidency.” Blacken his reputation for all time.

A “martyred” Obama is significantly less dangerous to the country than an Obama who remains in the White House. That said, I think the American electorate is far too stupid not to revolt against the GOP if the GOP attempts impeachment.

Actually, I just thought of something that might be even more effective.

*AUDIT* the White House and the Administration.

All I can do is pray that the 2015 Congress will do amazing things, that with God’s favor they will be able to overcome the evil that is the administration at this time. May 2015 be an inspiring point in the history of our republic where elected and private individuals alike overcome the political/industrial/media complex that seeks to destroy our nation. May liberty and courage and faith prevail.

The martyr problem was what they stumbled over with Bill Clinton.

Personally, it’d be just as good to remove the State of the Union address and make it a written report instead, thus denying him a chance to stand in front of both the House and Senate, and make a public speech.

What? b.j. clinton’s name WAS ran through the mud and his dirty laundry (assaults/rapes) were aired for everyone to see. He was the ONLLY SECOND PRESIDENT IN OUR HISTORY TO BE IMPEACHED! Any chance at future success should have been ruined at accomplishing anything at all for the rest of his presidency, and his reputation for all time should have been blackened... yet what was the result???

He was exalted and heralded at that 2013 democrat convention!

b.j’s impeachment didn’t even scratch him. His sycophants (the media) laugh about it.

There is no reason, under the same circumstances, to impeach zero. It’s a waste of time.

I’m going with Thatcher’s philosophy: win the argument, then you win the vote.

America has just voted to shut zero down. Impeachment is pointless. Reversing every bill he ever signed, every EO, every policy, THAT’S impeachment that the history books can’t re-write.

They re-wrote Clinton’s impeachment and now he’s a hero to (still!) half our nation.

You can’t teach the 47% about Marxism if you put them on the defensive, and their ears are open right now. Well, maybe 20% of the 47%.
