RUSH: Since I have explained all this logically -- and the end result of explaining this logically is to illustrate the on-the-surface illogic of all of these people afraid of the government shutdown. It simply is illogical. Everybody bleating about, "No, no! No, no! Ohhhh, no! Shut down the government? Oh, my God! Shut down the government? We're gonna get blamed. We're gonna get creamed! No! No!" They don't really mean that. Here's what it all means.
They may mean that, but when you strip all this away, what it really means is -- and batten down the hatches here. It means that the vast majority of the membership of the Republican establishment and their donors want amnesty. That's what all this means. You've gotta cut through the noise here, which is one of the things I always try to do, not get distracted, 'cause all of this talk about a government shutdown is a sideshow. These people are smart enough to know.
Hell, if I can figure it out, they can.
"A government shutdown is so devastating that we can't recover! Oh, my God," and we only won a landslide election? What this is about is the establishment concocting an excuse where they don't have to stop Obama because they don't want to, folks. That's the only logical interpretation for all of this. The election results are clear. The voters don't want any more of what Obama is promising, implementing or offering. They don't want any more of it.
The election was the only way people in this country have of saying "stop." Well, the people they elected to stop it, at least in the case of amnesty, don't want to stop it. But they can't come out and say that. They can't come, after all of this, and act like they are as eager for amnesty as Obama, but they are. We know it to be true. We know the Republican establishment, we know the Chamber of Commerce, we know that many of the donors want amnesty.
They want all of these low-skilled and low-educated workers because they're low-wage. They've not even denied this, in recent months/years. So what this is really all about is it's just easier for these people to hide behind the dangers of a government shutdown as the excuse for not stopping Obama. That's all this really is, because they're not this shortsighted.
They don't really think we can't shut down the government and stop Obama because of a poll in the Washington Post about being blamed for a shutdown. It's that they don't want to. The polling data is a convenient excuse. "Hey, look, if we do it we're gonna get creamed! We just won, and you want us to throw away this victory by ticking off the people who just elected us?" It's a sideshow excuse. That's what it is. Face it.
You really believe that? I mean, c'mon now. We just had one historic election in early November, that should have shut Obola down. Instead, he comes out with his amnesty EO and is talking like there was no GOP success on election day. AND the media is parroting this!
I do not disagree with your assessment. I am hoping that 2016 we can get a real conservative for President, if not, the Republic dies...
Yes I do really believe that, but just as Ebola and ISIS drove the news cycle over the summer and fall, something else could pop up and Obama may get brownie points and his amnesty screw up will not be remembered. This is why I think we need to keep up the drip, drip, drip going with investigations, sending up good legislation that he doesn’t want, block his extreme appointments (which are pretty much everybody he nominates). It is not a perfect plan, but we have to do something over the next two years. The President and his media allies are not going to rollover and they do have some leverage. We need attack them where they are weak and keep on it...
It can be rolled back, but the longer it takes, the more entrenched it is. Constitutional law is the game, bringing in more illegals empowers liberals to ignore the constitution, I get that...
You maybe right, but if you are, then defunding the government won’t do squat...
I would not disagree with your assessment overall. If we had a guest worker program, it should be lawfully past with strict requirements and strict enforcement. But if you are right (and I suspect you are) and we do not need one, kick em out and protect the borders. I have no issue with that and actually think GW screwed this one up bigtime after 911. He could have ended it right then without a real opposition to it. He squandered that opportunity because ultimately he believes in open borders just like Jeb...
So we really are only disagreeing about tactics, we want the same thing. I think we lose if we try it again, you don’t think so. We may find out very soon who is right.
Yes, and we certainly agree on the damage and harm done by the Bush family. Giving Poppy the vice presidency was a costly compromise indeed.
You are actually reinforcing my point, the media will take the Obama side (again) with another shutdown and the low info voters will buy it. Only Hillary or Elizabeth gain from that and that is what I am ultimately concerned with.
I want Ted Cruz for President, we lose the Presidency, we lose the chance of at least two more supreme court nominations and then I think we lose the Republic that we both want.
Touche~
FReeregards!!!
You mean like:
Benghazi
IRS Scandal
Obolacare
All of which have had multiple hearings and investigations, all of which have been entirely ignored and have resulted in zilch and have been fodder for the media to call Conservatives crazy and for which nothing - I repeat, NOTHING - will come of?
sending up good legislation that he doesnt want,
You mean like repealing Obolacare, which happened in the House some 40 times, giving the media additional fodder for calling Conservatives crazy and for which nothing will ever pass, even with a GOPe Senate? You mean like sending up good legislation that he didn't like because it didn't fund his programs, so he shut down the government and the Republicans got the blame and the media used as fodder to continue calling Conservatives crazy (thank GOD the American voter is smarter than the media and saw through that garbage)?
You see, you have to be entirely delusional to think anything is going to happen to Obola with this House and Senate. Again, we had the House, Senate AND WH from 2000-2006 and got squat. But hey, don't take my word for it. You'll see it shortly first hand. Watch.
I just want it kept up and run out the clock. Nothing gets fixed until we have both houses and a conservative president....
Good luck with that. I have no doubt the American public is ready, willing and waiting for a COnservative Prez...unfortunately, the GOPe and their cronies won't allow it. They'll make sure we get Romulan or Crispy Cream Christy or, God forbid, another Bush.
I take him seriously, as the demagogue and Democrat-in-all—but-name that he is.
