Unarmed Arizona man shot dead by Phoenix cop who mistook pill bottle for pistol: police

An unarmed Arizona man was shot dead by a Phoenix police officer who mistook a pill bottle for a handgun, police said.

Police have yet to name the 30-year-old white officer, who fired off two shots that killed Rumain Brisbon, a 34-year-old black man, during an altercation Tuesday night during an investigation into a drug deal, police said.

But witness accounts varied on what actually happened, sparking protests in Phoenix Thursday night as the fever pitch from the police killings of unarmed teen Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and the chokehold death of Eric Garner on Staten Island, boiled over into the streets of the southwestern United States.

The police-involved shooting gives “the impression it’s open season for killing black men,” Ann Hart, the chairwoman of the African American Police Advisory Board for South Phoenix, told KPNX-TV.

Is it open season on grade school kids too? Cops can’t be expected to know for sure whenever a kid holds a finger up or a partially-consumed pop tart.

Has anyone suggested that these thug criminals stop doing their criminal activities??????? I think the criminal class should all be put on a Devil’s Island for the rest of their pathetic, useless, malignant lives. One strike and you’re OUT! Society needs to stop pandering to and to stop encouraging the thug criminal class.

What do all three of these (Brown, Garner, Brisbon) have in common?

ANS: Young black men resisting arrest.

How do we fix it?

Train our policemen when they are arresting young black men to ask them to come along peacefully and if they refuse, the policeman is to apologize and leave.

Yeah, that would do it./sarc

No, the media hysteria is giving that impression. Narrative pushing editors and news room bosses are dredging the wire feeds and their archives for anything that fits the narrative. Eric Garner died in July and not a peep out of the race hustling media for months.

These stories are a convenient diversion from having to cover Emperor Obummer declaring himself to be above the constitution regarding immigration. This way the democrats don't have to answer question until immigration is “old news” and no one cares anymore.

I think these stories are being given national coverage to try and indict conservatives/Republicans as being the evil hate-filled enemy. They want to convince people that your normal, fly over country, family values are racist, wrong and unfair. That's why we are seeing backlash over "White Christmas" for crying out loud. This way the democrats can ride to the rescue for the oppressed minorities (again). Same type of hype as the war on women. Sort of a set the building on fire so you can be the hero mentality.

“Because I see nothing to stop the current trend; neither the protesters nor the escalation of force.”

Every case in the nation of a police officer shooting a black man will be highly publicized for effect. On the other hand, we will hear absolutely nothing about the death toll in Chicago (or other places for that matter) that are the results of black on black crimes.

As many have already said, Obama, Holder, Sharpton, and the MSM should all be imprisoned for inciting riots.

It’s a new game called Honkey Kong.

This whole “Black Thang” is just getting “Ree Taw Et”.

They want to live in an era most of has zero experience in and would not only be horrified to see someone actually act on their racist underpinnings but, I don’t think I venture to say most of us would stand up to an ass like that.

“WTF?” Would probably be our initial reaction.

“GTHOH” would definitely follow in short time.

People aren’t being shot simply for being a certain hue. They are shot for presenting themselves as grave dangers to the rest of us, who simply want to live in peace and not fear for our lives.

The fact that many are running around talking about “Black this or Black That” is a subconscious acknowledgement of the very real social integrity issues that exist in a certain part of society.

That is:”No one likes to be taken advantage of and no one has a right to cross that boundary”.

But, in the inner cities, taking advantage of others is far to “De Rigour”, by more criminal types, whose mentality is to deprive another human being out of the value of anything, as well to injure someone’s pride and dignity.

The number of people who are completely comfortable doing so is so far out of the norms and aberration with all societies is demonstrated by a horribly skewed and provable statistic that vividly illustrates just that.

Fix that subculture and bring it more in line with society in general.

My understanding is that they are not actually “criminals” except for being defined that way by the white man’s law.

ODD how all the MSM sources, who used to (and still do) refrain from using the terms ‘black’ or ‘white’ when describing people involved in an incident because they say it would be racist to do so, have no problem with it when it supports their own view.

In this case the perp tried to run for it because of the bottle of pills in his pocket and whatever else was in the vehicle. If you think you can run, run. Running isn’t an act of violence against a police officer. But once the police catch up with you and put their hands on you YOU HAVE TO STOP TRYING TO GET AWAY. You have to do whatever the officers tell you and go quietly. Once the police are in physical contact with you RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

How difficult is it for these supposedly street-smart guys to understand this?

One attacked an officer, the other was selling untaxed cigarettes...

Say What Now? Both men attacked an officer.

If someone was going to argue that Garner was shot for selling untaxed cigarettes, I would expect they also believe Brown was shot for jaywaling.

As a counter to their counter-cultural symbol,
we should all start wearing suspenders.

Make sure you go all out Redneck on them. Great Christmas gift for all your white honky homeys (that's friends for those not in the hood).

With police forces across the country under increased scrutiny over killings of unarmed black men, Phoenix police said in a statement that its officer called for backup, and then saw Brisbon appear to remove something from the car's back seat.

It said the officer, a seven-year veteran of the department, gave him several commands to show his hands, before Brisbon "placed one or both hands in his waistband area" and then fled.

The officer chased and caught up with him, it said, and during a struggle the policeman believed he felt the handle of a gun while holding the individual's hand in his pocket.

"The officer gave the suspect several commands to get on the ground but he refused to comply, yelling profanities at the officer," said the police statement issued on Wednesday.

At that point a resident opened an apartment door and both men stumbled into her home, it said, adding that the officer was unable to keep a grip on the suspect's hand.

"Fearing Brisbon had a gun in his pocket the officer fired two rounds striking Brisbon in the torso," it said.

Apparently not the cut and dried execution slaying that the race hustlers would like everyone to believe.

Ann Hart hasn’t spoke out about Errun Scroggins (Black) killed next to Arizona State University (in his car) by a Black Man and Black Woman. (Nov. 28th)
