I have some liberal acquaintances who like to try to argue with talking points and left wing sound bites instead of reasoned positions.
I have a 'fire for effect' tactic that always infuriates them. I ask what the "transformation of America" they voted for is going to look like - what kind of rules do they want to make for me and my family to lie under? They babble and contort and say I'm not real. But, I know when they are alone with their thoughts they sometimes wonder how badly they have been used and what kind of fools they are.
you make the mistake of allowing opinion to ever enter a conversation concerning politics....I have 3 sons, all of whom graduated from liberal colleges and they are more conservative than I am. We have many discussions concerning politics but I never allow opinions to enter the conversations. Everyone is, of course, entitled to support their particular position, but it must be done so with supporting facts....It was great fun when we began this type of confrontation and they soon learned that dad was no fool. They were presented with a lot of liberal nonsense in school but they were never presented with intelligent ways to support it.
All three are now in their 50's and all are proud conservatives!!!!.....God works in strange ways.
