Basically, the worst possible area of Birmingham to live, and you could write up three or four robbery articles like this daily from the area. Nothing new.
It’s the one town in the state that you need to stay on the interstate and never leave via any exit...even for gas.
The Mobile area, Montgomery, and Huntsville also have areas that I wouldn’t stop to get gas.

When we drive through on our way to Florida traveling NE to SE (skipping Atlanta) it seems like we have to drive through some tough places. Is there a better way through town? I have stopped for gas there once, felt good to be packing.
I drive through there when I go that way to Virginia, and I have always made sure to never need to get gas while in the area.
Much like East St. Louis, Illinois.
I work between Avondale and the airport. Its not so terrible. That being said I do carry an AK and a glock in my vehicle just in case. and there are good places to eat around here.
