(CBS) – A video posted on Facebook is generating hundreds of responses, and it shows at least two young men on a CTA Blue Line train, slapping an older man and taunting him.

WBBM’s Steve Miller has spoken with one of those young men about why he did it.

The video goes on for more than two minutes. It shows at least two young men, both African American, slapping an older man on top of his head.

And then they appear to tease him.

It’s been shared dozens of times on Facebook, but originally was posted by a young man who says he shot the video and was apparently part of the group that mistreated the older man.

WBBM emailed the young videographer, and he called back.

The concept of let the punishment fit the crime sounds like a winner in this situation.

These thugs slapped and taunted this old man. The same should be done to them.

Though I would try to find some elderly retired US Marines for the purpose.

Something tells me the thugs would not do that particular crime (or any others) for quite some time.

That’s scary. I definitely would have been afraid for my life if that were me. The man was alone on a train being tormented by two unknown assailants with no means of retreating. Shooting them would have been justified.

That’s the quote from Andrew Holmes, the community activist who’s been showing people photos of the perps in hopes of identifying them to police.

Sadly, I suspect Mr. Holmes will shortly be called “a sellout” (and worse) by the activist community and other associated groups.

Someone must have reported the video linked by TigersEye as adult in nature due to violence or language (which is silly because the video is in no way extreme).

Do a Youtube search of “Epic Beard Man” and you'll find many posting of the video that haven't been flagged. Trust me, it's worth the effort.
