Expert: Under $2 Gas Soon

Richmond, Va. (1140wrva.com) Look for gas prices in the area to fall below $2 in the near future. Local gas industry analyst John Zehler, President of wholesaler Virginia Fuels, is predicting under $2 pump prices as the free fall in crude prices continues.

Zehler says the price plunge has been going on for 6 months and it's going to be hard to turn it around until demand catches up with production. He says some folks think, with the current trend, we could see gas fall to $1.60 by the summer but admits it wild speculation.

Let me know when it is back below the price of gas when the Messiah was inaugurated. ($1.86/gallon).

Sheeeeyit. Maybe for the rest of you people.

Here in Caliphornia we will be paying almost 2 dollars in gas taxes starting in January.

A good time for consumers to use this moment to pay off debt aggressively. Wouldn’t necessarily advise grabbing a new F-250.

Do you want the economy that brought those prices as well?

Measuring from the short term dip is no more honest than measuring from >$4 peak six months earlier.

Is this the same “Expert” that said we’ve seen the end of gas below $3.00 per gallon? BTW it’s $1.91 in Franklin Indiana right now.

From my perspective. The economy was immeasurably better then.

That $4 peak was media induced hype brought on by political maneuvering as a result of Katrina.

Here in Caliphornia we will be paying almost 2 dollars in gas taxes starting in January.

That's a bit of an exaggeration.

California gas taxes are currently 68.1 cents/gallon, #2 behind New York.

The carbon tax may add as much as 76 cents/gallon, but the consensus is that it will be closer to 15 cents/gallon.

That’s some pretty good prices. Lowest I’ve seen here in Georgia is $2.49

We’re already near $2.40 here. It’s dropped nearly $1/gal over the past few weeks.

I remember hating it, when the price went over $1.50/gal over 10 years ago, and the guy that owned a gas station told me that we’d never see it go below $1.50 again. We’re quickly headed in that direction. Overall, this helps our economy more than any stimulus gimmick or federal program/Federal Reserve central planning BS. It has the effect of a MASSIVE tax cut. This should be accompanied by a reduction on gasoline taxes, to REALLY help people. (I doubt that will happen though)

BTW it’s $1.91 in Franklin Indiana right now.

Best price near me is currently $2.14, per Gas Buddy

But, it's below $2.00 in the Houston area and Central Texas: Texas Gas Prices.

Katrina was 3 years earlier and all production drops from that time had already been restored.

Yes but with a $2.00 tax per gallon of gasoline, think about the fact the debt will be paid off faster, the unfunded pension liabilities reduced considerably, the improvements in roads and streets!

If you had written "$1 per gallon", I might have believed that.
