The status quo is that tens of millions of illegal aliens present in the USA are without IDs, Drivers Licenses, SSNs, Work Permits, Federal Benefits and other things particularly voter registrations. They are undocumented.
The status quo is they are undocumented and a preliminary injunction serving to maintain the status quo until the legal process is underway will stop Obama by prohibiting people that carry out his directives and orders from implementing Executive Amnesty, else there will be criminal incarceration and penalties and this applies to any federal contractors that are engaged or would be engaged in the action to document illegals.

The only thing that could get around a federal court order is LEGISLATIVE AMNESTY as opposed to what these lawsuits are addressing which is EXECUTIVE AMNESTY.
Legislative amnesty would be the comprehensive immigration reform bill that the Senate has passed. The House would need to bring it up for a vote. Boehner could possibly cram it through using all the democrats and breaking the Hastert rule which he is prone to do. But in the next Congress it is not yet known if Boehner can cram it through. It’s an uncertainty at present.
After Legislative Amnesty there is a fallback on the Supreme Court by the States as they are harmed by any effort at amnesty.
The final fallback is Article V.

However, since the Fedgov chief executive has authority over all the departments and agencies, maybe he only needs to give verbal orders? Of course, this one is against the will of Congress, not to mention the "original intent" of the Founding Fathers.
The USSC has often ruled against "original intent" - the latest being Obambicare. People are now forced to buy a commercial product/service under penalty of law. I've seen a lot of bad decisions by the USSC in my political life, but that one is up there with Roe vs Wade.

Not disagreeing with what you’re saying, but do you think the current Department of Justice would ever allow anything like that to happen to Obama?
Justice department is not in the loop at all.
US Marshals assigned to Judge’s Court carry out enforcement for Courts.
The Federal Judiciary is completely independent in all its operations save for one reliance written into the Constitution which is ultimately a question of budget that comes from Congress.
So there is no need to be concerned that a Judge will not be equipped to carry out justice.
The wildcard in all of this, if one is inclined to look for such things, is the question of whether the DC Judge will follow the law or not. The DC Judge assigned to this case has a pre-judgeship background that is a cause for concern but maybe not. No one really knows. The concern is that this Judge is reported to have been at one time a lead counsel for Patrick Leahy, the notorious liberal politician. But that doesn’t mean much if a Judge has a reputation for following the law. If this Judge follows the law next week, then Obama’s people and contractors are stopped. If this Judge does not follow the law but instead twists Obama’s narrative to fit a political goal, then Klayman I am sure has prepared an immediate appeal, at least I hope so.
Two things that are positive but not really meaningful because ultimately it’s a toss of the coin, are that the Judge assigned to this case did in fact grant over Obama’s lawyer’s objections, plaintiff’s request for fast track which is why the hearing is to be held this coming Monday.
The second thing is that Klayman who is the lead plaintiff counsel, is experienced and successful in DC Courts.
But again we can all be surprised so I am not raising my expectations. I will just watch the play by play.
Oh, and of course the US Marshals are not going to be arresting or serving summons on Obama or his White House. They will be serving such on federal employees and on federal contractors.
The fact is that Obama cannot carry out his executive actions without people. If those people are stopped by a federal court order, then Obama is effectively stopped.
