76-year-old man Tasered by cop over an Inspection sticker

The incident occurred in Victoria, Texas, a suburb of Houston. A dash camera captured officer Nathaniel Robinson tasering 76-year-old Pete Vasquez.

Vasquez was driving a vehicle owned by the car dealership where he works. Officer Robinson pulled him over when he noticed the vehicle’s inspection sticker had expired. When Vasquez exited the car and attempted to show Robinson the dealer plates—which would’ve exempted the necessity for up to date inspection tags—that’s when the altercation happened.

“I don’t know what his deal is,” Vasquez told an officer that arrived on the scene later. Vasquez went on, “he came over here and got nasty with me and I’m not going to put up with it, I don’t care who it is. Then he grabbed me and threw me on the pavement there and I almost knocked my head on that damn poll and then he start [sic] Tasing.”

Oh, will you just shut up?:

You'd still be making excuses for Roland Freisler, if he'd survived the fortuitous bomb through his courtroom...

I like where I'm living.

Just noticed that the tabs on my old truck have been out of date for about 9-10 months.

Whoops. No tazing or beat-down yet...

The real question is whether the officer had a legitimate reason to grab Vasquez’s left arm:

1) Was it legal?

2) Was it following department policy?

BTW - Behind Liberal Lines resides in The City of Evil, so he doesn't need instruction on out-of-control government. He kind of lives it.

Where is the respect for our elders?

This police officer’s parents didn’t teach him to respect older people and defer to them.

His man-handling an old man a younger person should never do.

Shit like this happens, and still people wonder why people are protesting the police nationwide. The crap the cops do is fine, until it happens to you.

"When Vasquez exited the car and attempted to show Robinson the dealer plates"

"I’m not going to put up with it, I don’t care who it is."

The cop's a mindreader! He knew the man was 76 and innocent, but the cop just wanted to hurt someone! Yeah, that's what happened.

There’s nothing wrong with being critical of the police, but jumping to conclusions, only presenting one side of the story, while trying to shut down the other is nothing but agitation, and I don’t see how it furthers the conservative cause.

The a-hole cop shouldn't have a badge or a gun.

There is no excuse for beating up an unarmed, small, 76 year old man for a damn inspection sticker, which it turned out he didn't need.

Imagine the type of mind that thinks it's OK to body slam a 76 year old on concrete then hit him with 40-60 thousand volts twice.

Do you really want this halfwit thug a-hole "protecting" you and your family?

Jumping to conclusions? One side of the story?

Was the video bias?

How do ya get one side of the story from a video?

??

How’s that work?

You missed the whole point - the car did not need an updated sticker - it was a dealer car - (try reading the article) - so there was NO LEGITIMATE reason to stop him in the first place -

in the second place, after the man told him what he should already have known - and pointed to the dealer plate - the wet behind the ears 23 year old rookie, with his rap music cranked, escalated instead of backed off.

Fortunate for all concerned, the elderly man didn’t break a hip when falling - nor have a heart attract due to the tasing - This little punk with a ‘shield and a gun - and a taser’ needs to have his jackboots taken away.

At least someone had good sense. I am a 76 year old white woman and have seen some pretty stupid behavior by young cops.

Only one side of the story? It was ALL on the video - plus, the cops boss PERSONALLY went to the victims house to apologize - so I guess even HE thought it was wrong.

Protecting someone "in the wrong" doesn't do much to 'further the conservative cause" either.

You are dealing with someone who is a Cop bootlicker and can find no circumstance when the cops do something wrong or use excessive force. Just check his posting history. Moon thinks we are just a bunch of rabble rousers and idiots because we DARE question the coppers.
