American troops just had their first real battle with Islamic State militants, after the terror group attempted to overrun Ein al-Asad base in Iraq in the middle of the night Sunday, the Kurdish news outlet Shafaq News reports. The U.S. troops absolutely decimated the militants, forcing a quick retreat. The counterattack was conducted in a joint operation with local tribal forces.

The attack occurred at Ein al-Asad base, which currently hosts nearly 100 U.S. military “advisers.” The U.S. troops engaged the militants in tandem with F-18 fighter jets, who provided air support. The battle lasted approximately two hours after an undisclosed number of militants were killed.

Fighting soldiers from the sky
Fearless men who jump and die
Men who mean just what they say
The brave men of the Green Berets

Silver wings upon their chests
These are men, America’s best
One hundred men will test today
But only three win the Green Beret

sounds like the making of Vietnam 2.0

This will only increase as he desperately seeks to claim at least one success before leaving office...as he is doing with the new Cuba deal...

what a loser...how he got in twice is beyond me...

Iraqi is a nonexistent element....there is Shia, Sunni, or Kurd...but no so-called Iraqi as in a actual citizen that believes in a single nation...

With that said, Arabs are worthless when it comes to combat and soldiering...they are the most incompetent and lazy culture I’ve ever come across...and any vet from OIF or OEF that was in a training role will agree with me 100%...

So - yes - if we are on the ground - we are going to have to fight...because those idiots won’t risk it...because as they say over there, “It’s not my problem.”

“...100 U.S. military ‘advisers’. Apparently giving some good advice!”

History repeats itself. Indigenous troops fight well when American troops are by their side. But, when asked to fight on their own they will break and run when the $h!t flies. Exception is the Kurds, was the same with the Montagnards and Chinese Nungs in a long ago war in another far away place.

Nearly 100. Not quite 100. Militants attacked in the middle of the night, had complete surprise, and were counterattacked by fewer than 100 military advisers (not "advisers") who had the help of local tribesmen and F18s. Two hours later, they left, but had to carry their asses, which had just been handed to them.

‘Iraqi’ Arabs fight mostly for MONEY first and foremost. Kurds mostly do Not. That’s PARTLY why we lost many American trained Iraqi Arabs months ago. A country called ‘Iraq’ never was - simply look at history of how ‘Iraq’ as we know it came to be.

Yes, BCW, new world order's plan is to break up Iraq. Let's see how that works out. NWO is very successful at breaking up countries.

When did "Iraq" as we have known it happen to be a 'country'?

LOL, after the elites engineered war, WWI, broke up the Ottoman Empire...

and then became part of the ... elites... “British mandate”...

and then it was made into a country.

See a pattern ?

Yes.....everyone here can remember all the constant counter protests these ‘students’ have made throughout the years protesting radical Islam and terrorist Jihad. They were all over the news, right?

Was waiting for you to articulate ;)

Then again, that's A definition of a country. Historically, even before the British Mandate, what was Iraq?

Retreat to where? Too bad the Jabs and Germans didn’t know about this tactic of “retreating” to...uh...someplace and living to attack another day.

The USA troops coulda killed another 10,000 terrorists but it takes time to sit down with each terrorist and read him his Miranda rights before you shoot him.

They were all over the news, right?

Saudis or Iranian "students"?

The latter "students" are not significant on their own and in numbers. Most don't bother much because they are unarmed and easily overpowered by those in charge in Iran.

I've not heard of Saudi 'students' protesting against Saudi Arabian regime!

As demonstrated by our troops, a real, properly equipped army fighting a real war would mop this ISIS mess up in weeks.

...and be home in time for Christmas?

And that is my whole contention - while not as specific, I guess, as it should have been.

To me and what I can see, read, hear and remember, this whole “there is a good-Muslim” disagreement/anti-sentiment/displeasure/no-support/outrage whatever you want to call it is virtually nonexistent.

To me, this only comes out in anecdotes or examples or spinettes whenever somebody starts to remember “hey, where’s all the ‘regular’ peaceful Muslims on this?

The question that ticks around in my mind is whether it was an actual “attack” or if it was a probing action to determine the type/style of defense to see if they could find crack to leverage during a future attack...
