Happy Clinton Impeachment Day 2014!!! Impeachment is Forever
Friday, December 19, 2014 | Kristinn

Posted on 12/18/2014 11:12:40 PM PST by kristinn

It's been 16 years since President Bill Clinton was impeached. Free Republic played a key role.

On October 31, 1998, Free Republic held the first online-organized national protest to call for Clinton's impeachment and removal from office. The rally was broadcast live on C-SPAN for over four hours. Speakers included a who's who of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

The rally can be viewed in its entirety online at C-SPAN

As the Senate trial drew to a close in Feburary 1999, FReepers came together online to design and fund a full page ad in the Washington Times urging the Senate to do its Constitutional duty by convicting and removing Clinton for committing perjury and obstruction of justice in office.

Thanks to Varmint Al for hosting the ad online.

Some of the previous Happy Clinton Impeachment Day threads can be found here.

Ah, back in the days when Lindsey Graham and Joe Scarborough were conservative. Back in the days when Chris Matthews went on TV every night to talk about how disgusted he was with the Democratic president. How times have changed!!

We did it once, we can do it again.

Impeachment is only the first step;

REMOVAL and INCARCERATION MUST follow for it to be any good!

Very astute observation about Matthews, etc. We’ve foolishly allowed the media to become so consolidated in their ownership and ideology that they can now work as a cabal instead of independent voices with thousands of different opinions as it was 35 years ago. Those that work for the consolidated cabal either tow the line or not work.

Objective news from a 4th estate has been replaced with an agenda of propaganda.

The public in general has gotten sick of looking at these same faces and hearing the same voices for generations pandering to interests instead of the Constitution. Term limits needed so they are out before they get corrupted.

Let’s get it rolling again. What do we need to do? Although Clinton didn’t leave office and I’m sure the loser in the office now will not either. BUT I’d love to see it happen

So true! Republicans make me just as mad as the Democrats. I call my representative all the time, does no good. I told him just this week, after he joined Boehner and voted w/Obama, that we’ll do to him what we did to Lugar. Of course, we have to come up with a candidate that won’t put his foot in his mouth! And keep/grow a spine.

Yes, the lack of intelligence of the American voter remains our No. 1 problem. Most still cannot explain what “impeachment” means.

Freepers who are more interested in perpetuating Republican Party influence than they are in preserving Constitutional principles

No, it's that we don't want to give up our voice in Republican primaries, not that it seems to make much difference.

I don't think so: the American people are still celebrity and sports watchers. That's why HRC is said to be the 2016 shoo-in.

Trent Lott said he didn’t see any evidence. And MS people agreed.

You’re right. It makes no difference at all. So why play out the charade?

kristinn, you have been around FreeRepublic for a long time. You probably remember Socks C.’s regular Friday postings of “Tabloid Trash”?

Socks C. passed on years ago, RIP. I am the trustee of Socks C.’s estate. I am in possession of Socks’ entire collection of tabloids - “I’m Nor a Fat Cheesy Slut” and on and on . . .

I’m thinking that the coming candidacy of Hildabeast might be the optimum timing to eBay the collection.

Your thoughts?
