The Coming Obama End Run for Gun Control
Townhall.com ^ | December 20, 2014 | D.W. Wilbur

Posted on 12/20/2014 11:38:30 AM PST by Kaslin

With just over two years left in the administration of President Barack Obama, and with his promise, some might view it as a threat, to use the powers of his office to make changes he believes are best to move the country towards the vision he and his supporters have for the future of America (that fundamental transformation he told us about), protecting Americans’ right to bear arms will be even more important as the Obama Presidency winds down.

The president has made no secret of his interest in enacting more stringent gun control across the board in America. While he smiles and tries to cloak his goals in the guise of a “reasonable approach to gun control”, he quietly and behind the scenes schemes with his Attorney General Eric Holder to use whatever tactics they can to achieve as much as they can, with little regard for what the majority of the American people want.

The United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, regulating the international trade in conventional arms, from small arms to battle tanks, combat aircraft and warships, will enter into force on December 24th of this year. The Obama Administration has fully supported this treaty. While it violates the Second Amendment of U.S. Constitution and likely won’t be ratified by the Senate and enacted into law in this country, it serves as a symbolic victory for the anti-gun politicians in Washington, D.C.

California Democrat Senator Diane Feinstein continues her efforts to outlaw private ownership of guns, whole-heartedly supported by the Obama Administration. Diverted only temporarily by her attack on the CIA and her release of information about the CIA’s enhanced Interrogation program, Feinstein is sure to come back to her gun control efforts, which will be the crowning jewel in her Senate career should she retire after this term in office.

Considering the challenges faced by America, with Islamic terrorists from ISIS threatening to bring their campaign of Jihad butchery to American shores, the most recent cyber-attack orchestrated by North Korea which revealed our nation’s vulnerability to attacks against our critical infrastructure, an increasingly bellicose Vladimir Putin and communist Chinese threats of expansion, not to mention the regular threats made by the Iranian mullahs, now certainly isn’t the time to disarm the American citizenry.

Yet the Obama Administration and their allies among the Democrats in the House and the Senate continue to argue for strict gun control, and take whatever steps they can to continue moving in that direction. With the UN treaty in effect will some sort of Obama ‘executive action’ be in the future ?

Advocating for enforcing the existing regulations and arguing against the need for additional laws, gun advocacy groups wage an uphill battle against a biased news media, that seems to relish using any acts of gun violence that happen around the country as a bludgeon to beat the NRA and other groups over the head, and to beat the drum once again for stricter gun laws. Stricter laws by the way that will have little if any effect on the random acts of gun violence perpetrated by people who care nothing about the laws currently on the books.

But that doesn’t stop the Obama bandwagon from rolling along with their gun control agenda, ignoring the U.S. Constitution and the Second Amendment. More importantly ignoring the threats we face as a nation. Which is why we will need a well regulated citizen militia to help protect this nation in dangerous times, and from a weak and dangerous president determined to leave strict gun control as one of the foundations of his legacy.

Cars don’t kill people, the same that guns don’t kill people

The real end run is Bloomberg and his Leftist one percenters using the states initiative systems to implement gun registration via a universal background check (BC).

Presently, the only way to do a BC is through an FFL dealer, which means filling out a 4473 Form which basically registers your firearm.

Most of us are familiar with that animated gif showing the rapid spread of CCWs. If the NRA and GOA, who are currently high-fiving themselves over the recent election don't get off their butts to head off the antis and come up with a viable non-4473 way to do a background check by citizens, we'll see the same kind of map showing the rapid spread of Bloomberg's successes.

Reasoned/fact-filled arguments mean little to the non-gun owning Gruberites who believe the "safety" or "loophole" lies, while the non-gun owners don't give a damn about registration.

"That is damn lie created by the Clinton regime!

Actually, that is a truth, invented by me and posted here on Free Republic long, long ago. Background...a local doctor was pissing and moaning in an editorial about the need for stronger gun control, and pushing the idea that guns should be regulated as a "health issue". It turned out that on that same day, that same paper (the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.....now defunct in print) had an article about iatrogenic deaths. I looked up the numbers of gun accidental deaths vs. iatrogenic ("medical misadventure") deaths from the paper and posted them here. The meme was picked up and spread from FR to many, many places, sometimes modified, sometimes not, sometimes treated as a joke. But I was completely serious when I first posted it...I wanted to "stick it in the eye" of those doctors who want to either ban or regulate guns as a health issue.

"Look at the CDC death stats: there is not even a category for that.

Why would the CDC have such statistics?? But they certainly can be found....simply search "iatrogenic death statistics".

"This lie has proven extremely useful to trial lawyers coaxing their brain-dead juries to "send a message" with an obscene judgement.

Bullbleep.

People who keep describing Obama as a "weak"_Resident need to check their hole cards. This guy's as vicious as a pound full of rabid Dobermans.

He has a Politburo (Spell**cker wanted to substitute " polite urologist" twice) in place on our government dime, he has secret (and traitorous) contacts with and support from tyrants overseas, he shows every appetite one would expect to see in an American practitioner of caesarism, and every attribute of a revolutionary Communist traitor one has previously seen in Saul Alinsky, Angela Davis, and Fidel Castro.

Guys who need to be on the receiving end of a capital-crimes trial for high treason but are still running around loose and bearding their countrymen, shouldn't be described as "weak" any more than John Dillinger, Al Capone, and Alger Hiss were.

Is there anything to that story? I saw a thread once about it, but is it TRUE that Hussein wears a ring with an Arabic inscription? If he does, that's awesomely insolent.

Guys, facts do not matter to these people. Only agendas.

Laz, I think a lot of FReepers are just too honest to get it. They're dealing with people for whom their WANTS are the only things that matter, and words are only weapons with which to get what they want.

We're talking complete cynicism and instrumentalism.

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/334716

Here is an article that presents both sides (sort of). They come to the conclusion that it is “just a design”.

Well - then I would like to know if it isn’t Arabic - what is the design - and why.

The one sure looks like a serpent. And the ring is broken into different sections with, with different patterns on each section. Sure seems like it is telling a story of some sort.

King Obobo thinks he can just use his royal pen and phone and go around Senate and law. He will just bring in his NWO-U.N. troops and take the guns and your freedom. He will start a fight that he can not win. We in the South will fight to the last man, to the last round, to the last breath. G_D save the South, G_D save the Confederacy.
