It’s not the “office” attending the funeral, it’s the steaming turd occupying the “office”. That phrase is a meaningless ploy to maintain some semblance of respect for asshole office holders who deserve no respect and who show no respect for the responsibilities of the office they hold.

Respect the office, if not the man holding it.I respectfully submit that when the office is so profoundly diminished by a small, mean, self-serving, and corrupt person, then the office itself no longer commands respect. It can only be restored to greatness by a great person.

"That funeral was held to honor Officer Ramos, and to bring politics, to bring issues into that event I think was very inappropriate... Blowjobio told the Trayvons that they were the good guys and the cops were the bad guys and two innocent dead cops was the direct result.

How do you separate the two? By remembering those who held it before him, both good and bad. Same as with the presidency.

Many of the thousands of officers who turned their backs came from police departments outside of New York. Bratton has no authority over them and I’m sure they don’t care what he thinks.
