Austin has lost two malls in the time I’ve been here. But there’s a lot of renovation in that time, too.
The media won’t say which group is responsible, but I know (Amish).
Eastgate and Washington Square. Washington Square was a Simon Mall.
Rumble in the Jungle.
Twitter has become the new jungle drums...
they must be insured.
Its happening to malls all over the country. Once they destroy a mall they move on to he next....
The media is reporting that IMPD (Indy Police) knew it was coming. They’ve been monitoring Twitter for days.
People, large crowds. Huh.
At least its not Aliens.
Thats why malls fight like crazy to NOT get public transit stops near the mall.
Forgot those unruly little buggers!
Blowing off a little steam after calculus class.
Malls are failing all over the country.
Many of them are located in neighborhoods that were OK 30 to 40 yrs ago but aren’t today.
Malls are being converted to all kinds of new uses.
I read about one that now houses computer server farms.
Others are being converted to public housing.
Dallas has lost a slew of them for other reasons (unable to compete, not highest and best use, etc.) Richardson Square, Prestonwood (developers actually forced some of the major stores out so they could redevelop it in a project that imploded when the dot com bubble popped; now the home of some big box stores.) Valley View. Big Town in Garland. Collin Creek is on the ropes - two of the five anchors have bailed. With the billion dollar State Farm project going in just to the south, and the big Hunt development going in diagonally across a surface intersection to the southwest, it has to be about worth more as raw land. The owner is negotiating to give it back to the lenders, the only question is how much else they’ll have to throw in to get the lenders to take it.
What Obama’s and Holder’s people touch, they destroy.
Excellent use. Will provide jobs and strengthen the country's digital infrastructure.
Others are being converted to public housing.
1 out of 2 ain't bad.
Black lives matter, but nothing else to them matters.
” Whats with groups of negro youth being involved in brawls at shopping malls?”
“Idle hands are the Devil’s workshop.”
Thank goodness for those Obamaphones. /s
This mall and the general area used to be a nice place to shop and have a nice meal. Over the past 10-15 years, the yoots have slowly started invading and now the area is to be avoided. It’ll be a complete slum like the mall on the East side is before it’s over. Everywhere they go, things turn to sh@#$. I won’t go near this area anymore because it’s getting a bad reputation
