Full headline: The ARMED vigilantes purposely clashing with police to catch out officers for brutality: 'Cop Block' Texas activists confront officers in the streets ... while strapped with rifles and recording devices

A group of Texas gun activists have taken to confronting officers on the streets, armed with video cameras - and assault rifles. The 'Cop Block' videos that they shoot and post online are meant to hold police accountable and combat police brutality. The activists say they're well within their rights to do it while openly carrying rifles, shotguns and antique pistols. The activists in the Dallas suburbs carry police radios so they can track the movements of police and film officers making arrests and conducting traffic stops. They also try to find police drunk driving checkpoints and speed traps and warn drivers about the officers up ahead.

Only had one encounter with a LEO. He was a gentleman in Arizona.

Highway patrol. We had a missing back light.

He told us to fix it, and wished us on our way.

Cheers,

Euro.

"Vigilantes"? I don't think so.

What I have seen over the past several years are videos of constitutional literalists testing local law enforcement to make certain the public's second amendment rights are not being infringed.

I didn’t know that Texas had such a problem requiring armed vigilantes. This sounds pretty bogus even for TheMailOnline. I don’t think this is logical, Brits. You’re believing the American MSM/White House propaganda.

Sounds like exactly what the US Navy is doing when it undertakes a “freedom of navigation” exercise in potentially hostile waters.

To the British media anyone in the US who owns a firearm and asserts their civil rights in the face of blithe authoritarianism *must* be some sort of barbarian.

Given that such barbarians ejected the Brits from this country I can understand why some of them are sore losers even 200+ years later.

Vigilante: (n) a member of a self-appointed group of citizens who undertake law enforcement in their community without legal authority, typically because the legal agencies are thought to be inadequate.

These Second Amendment activists are the exact opposite of vigilantes. They are defending our rights against government excesses in response to a perception that legal agencies are going beyond their lawful authority, rather than enforcing the law against suspected criminals because they think police are doing too little.

Gerrard scored 2 tonight.

Anyhow. I met the editor of Mail on Sunday.

Which is the Daily Mail’s Sunday paper.

They have different editors etc.

He said the Daily Mail crew are Tory always.

Sunday Mail will support Ukip.

Dallas is a liberal Eastern city plopped down in the Texas plains. They even just had a 5 cent per plastic bag tax go into effect.

I am 100% in favor of legal open carry in all 50 states.

But why go out of your way to provoke a reaction from the police? The name calling is inexcusable. The police ‘brutality’ allegations have been decided in a court of law, so “I can’t breathe’ is accusing those who didn’t commit a crime for which another man was found innocent. And why interfere with police legally performing their duties?

Frankly, I want honest police to be able to enforce the law. And my guns are to HELP the cause of law and order, not to obstruct.

I gotta be honest...I’ve long suspected some of these people are a false-flag operation for the gun control movement to stir up public fear and propaganda.

open carry is our constitutional right, period.

but deliberately provoking the police (who are almost always also carrying) ... is, IMHO, just plain stupid.

so stupid that it may lead to a Darwin Problem-that-Solves-itself award.
