Boehner likely to survive another squeaker for speaker
Politico ^ | January 5, 2015 | By JAKE SHERMAN and JOHN BRESNAHAN

John Boehner could lose the support of as many as 20 Republicans on his way to a near-certain reelection as House speaker, his allies concede — a political embarrassment for a GOP leader who narrowly survived a conservative rebellion two years ago.

--snip-- Among other issues, the dissenters are angry at the speaker for crafting a yearlong, $1.1 trillion spending bill that didn’t directly target Obama’s use of executive action to loosen immigration enforcement. Boehner has argued that he’s fought to defang Obamacare, and he has promised a 2015 fight on immigration — but with Obama in the White House, Republicans can only achieve so much.

I’m good now drank my martini down to the two olives. I usually do not let myself buy into any hope of getting rid of Boehner but today for awhile I was thinking maybe.

I’m not joining a losing team. Well, no more than all Republican voters are already on a losing team.

As much as it pains me to say this (and even more to know it to be true), this is all a choreographed musical. The piano players and the actors know the outcome of the play while we children in the audience think the good guys can still prevail in the end.

Think about it. There aren’t 29 genuine principled individuals willing to sacrifice the committee memberships and the perks of lobbyists licking the sack to ditch a worthless traitor like Boner. 29. Say it again, out loud: 29. One more time: 29. Out of how many Republicans that ran as “conservatives”??

Does anyone here honestly think there is one chance in Hell that we will ever get a Republican sweep like this again? A sweep that EVERYONE knows conservative are responsible for. And we still can’t get one damn iota of effort from them to even give lip service to the Constitution.

There are not 29 effin Republicans willing to stand against a man who tan is really a result of time spent up the rectal cavity of Herr Leader.

Also, if I am wrong and Boner is ousted, I will donate twice to the current FReepathon. And I am broke.

Do I like it? Yes because I didn’t want Nancy again.

Really? There's a difference?

Looks to me like the representatives consider Boehner enoygh of a conservative. Either that or they want those plum committee assignments.

It is not so much that I dislike Boehner as a politician, my problem with him is he has no fire in the belly or creativity like Newt had back in 1994.

Yes, there is a difference. Boner can scrunch up his face when he cries.

It is not blackmail. It is a bribe.

Telling someone that they will lose a position if they don’t vote a certain way is blackmail. Telling them that they can have a position for voting a certain way is a bribe. Either of which should be a crime in congress.
