Exclusive: Boehner, McCarthy, Scalise to All Republicans on All Bills: Pass to Find
Breitbart.com ^ | 1/5/2015 | Matthew Boyle

Two top deputies to Speaker John Boehner defended on his behalf the tactic of forcing members to vote on legislation they haven’t yet read in Monday evening’s more than two-hour-long conference meeting of Republican members, one of the members challenging Boehner for Speaker told Breitbart News exclusively.

Rep. Ted Yoho (R-FL), a candidate joining Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) to challenge Boehner for Speaker on Tuesday, told Breitbart News that he stood up and offered in conference that Republicans should not vote on legislation without having 72 hours to read it at a minimum. But Yoho was met with fierce opposition from both House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

It got turned down. Mr. Scalise and Mr. McCarthy talked against it so it would cripple our hand, because they have to do these things short notice. But to me, that’s a lack of leadership, and that’s the whole reason we have to do what we’re doing in the House—that’s a perfect example. The argument was, well, if the bill came out with language on Tuesday at 9 o’clock at night, that would mean we would have to stay here until Friday to vote on it. Why not stay here until next week and give members more than two or three days to read a bill? These things—they’re ridiculous. The American people expect and deserve better from us, and they deserve better, and that’s why we need different leadership.

I believe he’s got a bunch of Islamist friends who are willing to make another run on the bank like they did in Sept of 2008, and O’s handlers have been threatening not only Boehner but Pres Bush, VP Cheney, John Roberts, etc with another run on the bank if they offer real resistance to O’s planned destruction of the US.

And there might be other smut on Boehner too (that’s what the NSA is for, after all...), but I believe the reason he desperately fights to keep the other R’s “in line” is because O’s communist-Islamist terrorist buddies are willing to collapse the world economy if it’s the only way to totally destroy America. And that threat has gotten a lot of otherwise patriotic people to go along with the whole system being taken hostage.

What was it that Nancy Pelosi once said about the "Affordable Care Act" (a.k.a. ObamaCare)?

I think it was something along the lines of, "We have to pass it before we can find out what is in it"...

Her main issue in 2010 was Obamacare which makes sense as her husband is a surgeon in private practice.

Otherwise she was never a conservative.

She won her seat against a 7-term democrat incumbent who was the idiot caught on video pushing, shoving and threatening two students.

After the video she received attention and her contributions from conservatives spiked.

Sarah Palin endorsed her because she is a woman. As much as I trust Sarah Palin, I was criticizing her in 2010 because of some of the dumb endorsements she made but she has since come around and is making smarter endorsements.

After Ellmers barely won election by less than 1%, the state republican party gerrymandered her Congressional District to shore up more votes for her so she’s now difficult to defeat. She had 3 republican primary challengers in 2014.

So she’s firmly in Boehner’s camp sucking up to the establishment benefits.

I have family and some roots in N. Carolina. I will tell them to remember this about Ellmers and to spread the word that they have false tea party conservative in their midst.

The main reason bills are hundreds of pages long and have to be passed without being read - to hide the goodies from prying eyes.

Why, people would rise up in protest if they knew what was really in these bills. The Congress wouldn’t be able to get “business” done.

And that’s exactly why we shouldn’t allow these gigantic bills. Because “business being done” is the main reason politics is in the shape it’s in.

So how are Boehner and Scalise different from Pelosi? Oh yes... Pelosi has more stones and a will to fight than these two ever had in their wildest dreams.

Yes. If a bill is put up for a vote with no time to read it or debate it common sense says don’t vote for the bill. I would never vote on something that I had no clue what was in it. Tells me most of them are morons. But we already knew that.
