Glenn Beck Unloads on GOP Rep. for Voting for John Boehner in Fiery Radio Interview
The Blaze ^ | 1.6.15 | Erica Ritz

Glenn Beck on Tuesday tore into Congressman Chris Stewart (R-Utah) over his decision to vote for John Boehner as speaker of the House, saying he believes Stewart — who has been his friend for years — is losing his soul.

Beck asked the congressman whether it was Boehner’s decision to fund Obamacare, his support of the CRomnibus bill, or his decision to continually delay any action in opposing President Barack Obama’s agenda that garnered his support.

Stewart said the allegations against Boehner aren’t true, and continued: “I think in the time we have here, we can’t go back and review the last two, or four, or six years of votes you may or may not agree with him on. But the bottom line is this: I think we should be celebrating today, and it’s discouraging to me that instead this has become such a divisive day. We had a great election in November. … For the first time we’ve got a united front where we can oppose President Obama.”

“We have a united Congress, and they’re giving the green light to the president on amnesty,” Beck said. “They’re giving a green light on the CRominbus — that’s a trillion dollars, Chris!”

Beck reversed and analogized the situation, asking Stewart what he would do if he found Beck in a brothel, insisting that he wasn’t doing anything wrong and was just friends with all the women.

Stewart laughed. “Well, it depends, Glenn. How attractive are the young ladies in the brothel, right?”

Beck shook his head. “You told, us, Chris, to come down on you like a bag of bricks if we ever felt you were losing your soul. This is bag of bricks time. We think you’re losing your soul.”

Stewart said he appreciated Beck’s words, but remained firm in his decision, saying he thinks Beck may have misunderstood some of his previous stances.

“I do think that there are times where, you and I agree, that you’ve indicated, that I haven’t agreed with you,” Stewart said. “I think you’ve indicated that I’ve said or implied things that I certainly haven’t, and I never have. And I think you and I agree on far more than we disagree.”

“It is the game, Chris,” Beck said heatedly. “You’re playing the game. Stop playing the game!”

“You don’t think we can do better, Chris?” Beck’s co-host Stu Burguiere added. “You don’t think we can do better than John Boehner?”

“Listen, gentlemen, who do you suppose that we should support here?” Stewart retorted.

All three immediately said Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert would make a far better speaker than John Boehner.

“Do you know how many votes Louie Gohmert will get?” Stewart said. “As much as I like Louie, he’s not the person to lead the house right now.”

“But John Boehner is?” Beck said.

“We can agree to disagree on that,” Stewart remarked.

Beck told Stewart that people are “done” with the kind of games he is playing, and that he will not be re-elected if he continues playing politics against the interests of the American people.

“Glenn, I disagree with you,” Stewart said. “I think that by 2016, when the American people see what the Republicans have been trying to do for the last years, when we now have allies in the Senate who will help us to do those things in the next two years, we’re going to be able to move forward on the REINS Act, on reforming Obamacare, or eliminating Obamacare –”

“I don’t believe you,” Beck said flatly. “There’s no evidence. You’ve never done it, Chris! It’s never happened!”

Beck concluded by saluting Stewart for having the courage to come on the show, but reiterated that he is “worried” about the man’s soul.

I dont totally disagree. But just how much patience can there bee while out country burns? Thats the bottom line. It aint what I want. It aint about what you want. America is almost totally gone while people still can’t make up their mind. No one on FR is ignorant of the last 3 elections. No one.

How many years did the founders take to decide the issue once the redcoats marched? We are getting close to liberals stripping us of the last rights we have here. We ought to be able to make the radical leap to saying ‘No, I refuse to help the GOP help them” without a protracted period of reflection.

Norm, there’s no use in arguing. It’s too late. For decades we the people have allowed the elites to call the shots. Now they’ve got all the power.

I hear people saying “Let’s elect a veto proof senate.” There’s no way 20 conservative senators could get elected when 55 republicans already in the senate would fight for their opponents.

I know it is. I have long believed that we are headed to Fallout/Roadwarrior. But I refuse to go down without fighting.

The U.S. Constitution was a great idea while it lasted.

It still is. Now, if we can get it back in use, maybe we can repair the Republic.

You’ve been on a spring cleaning, that’s for sure. That GOPe product is weak sister and the democrat product is caustic.

Wouldn’t it be fun to be a survivor and be living the road warrior life and come across John Boner sitting on the side of the road bawling. The options of what to do are fun to consider.

I think things worth fighting for are worth doing it fully. Politics is virtual bloodsport and always has been.

There are a number of people on FR I used to go at it with for days. Giving and receiving. We get along fine now. The only contention we ever had was the RINO stuff. Once their devotion stopped, I had no reason to argue what wasn’t there.

I don’t think I’m brilliant or special or the arbiter of all right and just in the world. But I know what I believe and I know what those beliefs are based on. And I have seen what compromise does. So I fight. And if I lose, so be it. But I refuse to accept what I know is wrong.

That’s what worries me...the yahoos in DC don’t seem to have a clue as to the mood of the country. They want to play politics the same as it ever was. They can’t.

The left has had it with DC, the right has had it with DC, the middle has had it with DC. None from these groups want to compromise on anything. I know I don’t because I don’t want a communist hell.

The only thing I can see is a fight on the horizon and not one at any ballot box. The smug, selfish jackazzes in DC need to shut up and pay attention to what is outside of DC. It’s trouble a brewin’.

I hope I’m just being over dramatic and goofy in what I see, think and feel in my bones. Because it’s ugly and it will tear this nation apart. We have no great and moral leaders today that could hold us together, if this comes to pass.

I think the same thing so we are both nuts. And we have a lot of crazy friends.

One of my debate points is World history. History always repeats. Always. People in Bosnia, who were FAR better able to live in Roadwarrior not tech reliant as we are today), still believed that it would never happen there.

It happened.

We are not special.

And while you’re being introspective of your navel, perhaps you’d care to explain why it is that those of us that were mocked and ignored for 6 years about that whole ‘vote for a conservative not a RINO’ thing are finding ourselves in a malestrom of people suddenly coming to Jesus on the radical notion now that its too late for it to matter?

When Beck was on Fox he nailed virtually everything.

Beck gave up on politics because he did not see a political solution to our problem. Most here are beginning to agree with that notion now.

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." --October 11, 1798 John Adams
