The FBI’s December figures show 2.3 million background checks for gun purchasers were conducted in one month alone.

That is an increase of nearly 300,000 from the number of background checks conducted in December 2013.

Breitbart News previously reported that on Black Friday alone there were nearly three background checks conducted every second. A strong December was expected.

So, I'm sure there were a number of denials included in the checks. How many were false responses and how many were true denials. Were any of the true denials followed up on by city, county, state or federal law enforcement? Also as stated this was only through NICS. Currently, Nevada uses a state data base that I believe is somehow tied to NICS. Other states probably use a state system as well so the number is probably much higher that the 2.3 million. Especially since, in some cases, the check may have been a multiple gun transaction.

Obola's #Ferguson riot-incitement campaign got people's attention.

Self-preservation is a powerful motivator.

So why aren't there 2.3 million more murder victims?

That doesn’t cover all the states where a NICS isn’t needed when the purchaser has a CWL. I haven’t had to get one for at least 15 years here in Georgia.

You must not have looked outside this morning at all the blood running in the streets. Oh, that didn’t happen. Now if we could get all 2.3 million to actively participate in pro-gun activities to battle nannie bloomers and his ilk, we might make some headway in beating their stealing our rights.

Here in Ohio, we just passed a law that makes the possessor of a valid Ohio CHL automatically NICS compliant. As such, if you possess a valid Ohio CHL, you will not be required to submit to a NICS check as of approximately March 20th,2015. That’s how it looks on paper anyways. we have yet to see how it looks in practice. I don’t know if there are any other states doing this already.

Ohio just changed to that. It goes into effect around March 20th, 2015. Should be interesting.

This is the publics answer to riots, shooting the brave police who protect us.

Chaos, and the lack of policing has made the public realize that we have to protect ourselves. Govs like Nixon and Mayors like Deblasio/Willhelm and Presidents like Obama don’t inspire confidence that the hoodlums will face arrest.

Florida is like that and Nevada is like that as well. If you have your CCW you don’t need to do a BGC when you purchase a new firearm. I’m sure there are more but don’t have a list handy.

It works just fine here in Georgia. It is an agreement the state makes with Feds, and the states have to recheck these backgrounds for CWL holders periodically. In fact, Georgia didn’t do it often enough one year and they lost that exemption for a time. Overall, it cuts down on overload of the NICS system, and it saves money for the consumer. I know I have always saved more than the cost of getting the license in those $5 NICS check charges. Always.

No background check for permit holders here in Mississippi as well.

There is a definite indignity in having to get a license for a right guaranteed by the Constitution, but it is much easier to have that indignity suffered every 5 years than each time you want to buy a gun.

The biggest benefit I have from it is that the Feds do not know how many times I have used it to purchase guns. At least, they are not “supposed” to know.

I’ll bet New Yorkers feel pretty safe with Deblasio cracking down on people selling loose cigarettes the way he is.

We need to get more states on board with this. the leftists really want to create their database of firearm owners. this kind of thing seriously complicates that. We need to make the number of NICS checks go down, not up.
