U.S. policy created for humanitarian reasons 50 years ago has fueled a criminal pipeline from Cuba to Florida, enabling crooks from the island to rob American businesses and taxpayers of more than $2 billion over two decades.
A yearlong Sun Sentinel investigation found money stolen in the United States streaming back to Cuba, and a revolving door that allows thieves to come here, make a quick buck and return.

"gives Cubans advantages over every other immigrant group." Haitians, among others, have been saying this for years in South Florida.

a criminal pipeline from Cuba to FloridaI've seen it: While watching a "go fast boat" off-load Cubans very late one night in the Florida Keys, I remarked that "they didn't look like the usual Cuban refugees, but that they didn't look quite like Cuban military attackers, either. This article confirms my observation; they were criminals making their "commute" for a few days or weeks of crime.

The coincidence of this article with Obama's announcement is too much.
This sounds like the beginning of a "we need to regularize relations to put an end to this" meme.

excellent points. S Florida is a total scam.....it just goes on and on....arrests are made then for some reason the defendants seem to just disappear. My wifes’s niece called once and told us she had just received a ransom call for her husband. She was waiting for the police to show up....her hub was OK and not kidnapped but scams like this happen all the time.
