A Signal of Distaste For Dynasties Bodes Ill For Bush, Clinton

By Dan Balz January 10

AURORA, Colo. — It’s been a good few weeks for Jeb Bush, who has been setting the pace among prospective 2016 presidential candidates — at least in the view of some in the elite world of political donors, strategists and commentators. But even before the news that Mitt Romney is thinking about a third campaign, a dissenting view on Bush was registered here Thursday night.

A dozen Denver-area residents spent two hours dissecting the state of the country and its politics. The 12 participants — Democrats, Republicans and independents — are weary of political dynasties. They were dismissive, sometimes harshly, in their assessments of Bush, the former Florida governor. They were also chilly toward former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton.

When the name of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) was introduced into the conversation, however, many of those around the table, regardless of party affiliation, responded positively. To this group, who spoke in stark terms throughout the evening about the economic challenges of working Americans, Warren has struck a chord.

6 years of Empty Suit has hopefully taught us a thing or two.

Yea right. What’s not to love about communism?

I have no problem with a political dynasty.

But I do have a problem with a center-left RINO family that pretends to be Conservative.

I would have voted for a Conservative dynasty for the last 50 years.

Unfortunately, America has never had one (well, perhaps the almost unelectable Buckley's), and probably never will.

Won’t stop the elitists from both parties.
They both see it as their birthright.
They feel somehow “owed” the position.
Wonder when we will get to the poisoning and stabbing for highest office like the Roman Empire did, Year of Four Emperors style.

The problem is that no one in the Republican Party is stepping up to own the issue of the abuse of the middle class by the banking system. Talking down Warren won’t help unless there’s an alternative.

” the abuse of the middle class by the banking system.”

I’m not real clear what those abuses were. Please enlighten me.

Elizabeth Warren's big issue is the economy and the influence of Wall Street and banking interests on DC policies. She's in favor of laws which control the activities of banking and Wall Street. The way things are now, wealth is concentrating upward and the middle class is dying.

Ron Paul was good about highlighting the outrageous control the Federal Reserve has over banking. No Republican has stepped up and articulated what was one of his signature issues.

“Elizabeth Warren’s big issue is the economy and the influence of Wall Street and banking interests on DC policies. She’s in favor of laws which control the activities of banking and Wall Street.”

It’s a two way street. She wants to increase DC policies influence which is at least half of the problem. DC policies are what created the housing bubble to begin with. She is advocating making the problems worse.

if the rinos/gop-e get behind either romney or mccain or bush iii, that will be a signal to me indicating they do not want to win the presidency in 2016.

Let the g-d onus be on THEM for failure. Anyone says it’s because I won’t play the rigged game they’re setting up, they can go eff themselves.

Thanks.
Currently we are at the political sabotage stage.
They maneuver, scheme, smile for the cameras and play buddies in public, then play dirt digger and blackmailing backstabber behind closed doors.
It can’t be too much longer before the bleeding starts.
Sadly, the population will suffer for the political classes vanity first.

I guess it’s just me .. but how can anybody with a brain “respond positively” at the mention of Elizabeth Warren’s name ..???

I’m just sayin’.

This woman has already been proven to be a liar .. and yet people are drawn to her ..????? I find that extremely scary.

People complain of Hillary’s age. Warren’s birth date: born June 22, 1949. She’s 65 now.
