Sorry, liberals, Scandinavian countries aren’t utopias
NY Post ^ | Jan 11, 2015 | Kyle Smith

In the American liberal compass, the needle is always pointing to places like Denmark. Everything they most fervently hope for here has already happened there.

So: Why does no one seem particularly interested in visiting Denmark? (“Honey, on our European trip, I want to see Tuscany, Paris, Berlin and . . . Jutland!”) Visitors say Danes are joyless to be around. Denmark suffers from high rates of alcoholism. In its use of antidepressants it ranks fourth in the world. (Its fellow Nordics the Icelanders are in front by a wide margin.) Some 5% of Danish men have had sex with an animal. Denmark’s productivity is in decline, its workers put in only 28 hours a week, and everybody you meet seems to have a government job. Oh, and as The Telegraph put it, it’s “the cancer capital of the world.”

So how happy can these drunk, depressed, lazy, tumor-ridden, pig-bonking bureaucrats really be?

This article hits the nail on the head.

I met a guy who had worked there in programming for two years. He said when he got transferred he thought he was going to love it. But after being there for about six months he noticed that there was no inner spirit, no enthusiasm for anything. He said he first noticed there was no humor injected into conversations or circumstances. Then, he like the author, became aware of the boring sameness of everything and everyone.

I think those Danish girls would perk up the minute I showed up there. They would laugh with and love their Ol’ Pappy.

Everybody on the same level. No hope to advance. Just getting by. No one to be envious of, no one to emulate. No heroes, no stars. Yep. That’s utopia!

I know that its in Sweden and not Denmark but has anyone watched any of the series Wallander with Kenneth Branagh? I watched a few episodes since I like his acting but it was too depressing. The entire country seemed to be grey and dark and full of muslims. Could just be the producer but I have no desire to go to any countries in northern Europe.

Some 5% of Danish men have had sex with an animal.

Now, that, I did not know.

Funny he mentioned the girls. That was one point that the guy I met said he was looking forward to and found to be a huge disappointment. Again, every one just like the last one; nice smiles with nothing behind them.

Copenhagen is beautiful, great to visit in the summertime. But Denmark is flat, and expensive. It is possible to get ahead there, but they say for every Dane working, there are two on his back.

Fifty years ago Sweden was considered paradise on earth by the libs because the government confiscated half of everyone’s wages as taxes.

In one of my former lives, I traveled for business and pleasure in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The Danes are the most dower and depressing, followed by the Swedes. In both places the business and social life was no fun. Norway was a great place to do business and we had lots of fun at night...the girls from the office were very aggressive and a married guy could get in a lot of trouble. The business men seemed to have a lot of idea’s but were poor managers, but considered themselves happy Vikings.
Finland was also a fun place to do business..plus some pretty wild nights.

People who wanted a Socialist utopia in the USA should have been forced to live in a Socialist country for a year before deciding to destroy this once great country.

Socialism is what led to their importation of Muslims. It started with work nobody wanted to do like garbage collection and gradually expanded to trades like hanging drywall. Then the Muzzies discovered they could get by just fine as professional parasites, so they imported more who hadn't yet learned to game the system.

A generation or so ago, socialism functioned a lot better in Scandinavia because they had mostly a homogeneous population which had not yet lost their work ethic. That's the "successful" model of socialism which most libtards want us to consider without, of course, the monoculture.

Things have apparently changed much for the worse in Denmark since the last time I was there. It used to be the one part of Scandinavia where people did have a sense of humor and a fun loving nature (at least in comparison with the sullen Swedes and morbid Norwegians). The Netflix series “Lillehammer” is a pretty entertaining presentation of Scandinavian Social Welfare Statism meets All American Jersey Mafia, or how would a (literal) member of “The Sopranos” cast deal with the delicate sensibilities of today’s pathetic descendants of the Vikings.

Finland, which tops the charts in many surveys (they’re the least corrupt people on Earth, its per capita income is the highest in Western Europe and Helsinki often tops polls of the best cities), is also a leader in categories like alcoholism, murder (highest rate in Western Europe), suicide and antidepressant usage.

Well,you know, those winters.....

I visited Denmark for quite some time a few years ago, and found it to be a pleasant, albeit unremarkable, country. The people were friendly and welcoming, although a little Euro-bland. But the society is completely socialist. The government assigns the unemployed a job, which they have to do unless their medical condition prevents them. The wages are minimal, which works because their housing, food, transportation, and virtually every other necessity is paid for. The few people I met who did not work for the government paid staggering taxes -- up to 90 percent for some of the wealthier ones.

But even they were getting fed up with the parasitic muslimes who were working the system and trashing everything they touched. And well they should be. The system is not sustainable as it is.
