Black Democrats will celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend by gathering near Ferguson, Mo., where a black teenager was killed by a white police officer last summer.
The lawmakers, all members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), say they'll use the holiday to call on voters to get more involved in social justice issues while urging Congress to pass legislation overhauling the criminal justice system.
Those issues have gained national prominence since August, when Michael Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old, was shot and killed by Darren Wilson, a white police officer, after a confrontation on the streets of Ferguson, a largely black suburb of St. Louis. The tragedy led to weeks of violent protests in Ferguson and launched a national debate on a range of race-based issues, including police brutality, profiling, youth development and criminal justice reform.

They’ll turn Martin Luther King Day into a parody of his “dream”, where people who lie as easily we breath air pass judgment on everyone else according to the color of their skin.
I don’t why they’re going to Ferguson. Everything that could be stolen and broken is gone and busted. Dozens of businesses have vacated. It’s just a giant wasteland of section 8 housing now. They made their point. Next time Holders people want to loot, rape, rob, pistol whip or murder...let him. We get it. Enough already.

“Unarmed” must be the most overused word in the English language. Being “unarmed” seems to be a license to rob, rape and loot.
Talk about not getting it. Putting St. Michael the Thug on the same pedestal with Martin Luther King Jr. is insulting to the legacy of Dr. King, but today’s Black leaders are clueless to what he stood for. The high rates of poverty, the number of single mothers, the huge dependence on government programs for many urban Blacks, and the continuing racial tensions would be troubling to him. I think it’s safe to say Dr. King would be horrified at the state of Black America today.
