Barack Obama is calling on Congress to authorise continued military action in the Middle East, following growing criticism that his existing air strikes in Iraq and Syria lacked the necessary legally underpinning.

In excerpts from his sixth State of the Union speech released early by the White House, the president also suggests that the coalition fight against the Islamic State will continue for months if not years to come.

“This effort will take time. It will require focus. But we will succeed,” he will say. “And tonight, I call on this Congress to show the world that we are united in this mission by passing a resolution to authorize the use of force against Isil.”

He had Leon Panetta advising him. Panetta witnessed Slick Willy “I sold missile-guidance technology to the ChiComs” Clinton turn down the opportunity to capture/kill OBL and the permanent damage that did to his reputation/presidency.

Panetta told Obammie the Commie he’d lose too much political capital to walk around with that same cloud hanging over his head.

I wish I knew. Or I believe that I know and do not like it.

“Bush’s Fault!’

Yet he and Cheney did play more than a bit role. None of us should ever bend over and slobber over stupid decisions by politicians who wear the shirt of their red or blue loyalists, regardless of their Party. I prefer sunlight and exposure first and politics a distant second because politics is inherently corrupt. That’s why I’m “apolitical”.

I’m not and I don’t. Bush spent like a liberal and was no help to reducing the size and scope of government. But when the shiite hit the fan, they fought terrorism from one end of the globe to the other. They didn’t foster it like the current crew.

IMO the key to preserving the dollar...is to restore faith that U.S. is humanitarian at heart and will fight for what is right even if its against our national goals....this chance in Iraq...to free the people...and save the women and children...may be the last chance we have to save the dollar.......

To defeat Isalm......to win.....the draconian aspects of this diseased ideology must be removed...and the Women of Isalm...must be taught to rise up.....The women are the key...

Iraq....could help with all of this.....IMO.....

Might be useful to get the 7 or so M.B......reps. out of our gov....before this starts...

oh well
