We’ve switched sides in the war on terror. The task of the US military is to re-establish the Caliphate. Obama is going to bump this up a notch.

Strange. 0bama bombed Libya without asking Congress. He released 5 Taliban commanders for Bergdahl without notifying Congress.. Why can't he wage war against ISIS without involving Congress.. CONFLICT OF INTEREST MAYBE???

To be honest, the best solution would be to give the Saudis southern and western Iraq, and eastern Syria. Give Kuwait parts of Iraq north of their territory up to the Shat al Arab as repayment for the invasion of 1991, and give the Kurds a homeland in the north of the region. Saudi would get more oil, the Kurds would get a homeland, Iran would get SOME territory, and Lebanon would expand. Israel would get a larger buffer zone in Southeastern Syria as well, so win win for all.

We also need to attack any Iranian presence in Iraq.

Why should we care about what the Russians or Chinese think anyway? We need to take a hardline against them to stop them now or they are going to be trouble. And we need to keep Iran from creating a landbridge to Israel. The only way we do this is to keep Iran out of Iraq and Syria.

Ol’ Lindsey. Take out Assad and get the result we got by taking out Hussein and Mubarek.

Agreed. We don’t even need to be directly allied with Assad to share valuable info on ISIS. It ain’t always pretty but it is how it has always worked. After all, we once tried to kill Kaddaffi but ended up largely taming him. He was terrified of Bush.

Just a few days ago Assad offered to share info that may help capture terrorists in Europe. Meanwhile our “ally” in Turkey is raging on about insulting the prophet.

“Obama to call on Congress to approve continued military action against Isis”

That cannot be true. Obama has never heard of Isis. To Obama it is “ISIL” each and every time. He is not smart enough to get it right.

ISIS came out of nowhere. Who is funding them? Shut down the money. It’s time for others in the ME to carry the mantle of frittering away their youth and treasury and nation in the name of the cesspool of the Middle East.

Every time we knock out a dictator it creates more instability. We were better off when Saddam kept a lid on Iraq, as well as Ghadafi, and Assad in Syria. When a country is multi culturalized as ours has been this is how unrest can be fomented and lead to anarchy. Borders can be controlled.

All we are doing is fighting to protect some Muslims against other Muslims, none of which are or allies or friends.

We don’t even know who is who over there.

Insanity

The Russians would NOT sit back if we attack Assad. At the minimum, they would deploy a whole LOT of S-300 & Bastion air defense, most likely manned by Russian troops.

Or they could go further, and deploy fighters to attack any incoming threats to Assad. Another option is missile strikes against air bases in the region, or using Sunburn missiles (the ones that go about Mach 3 and can evade Phalanx) to strike carriers.

Or they could start with option I, get enraged at Russians being killed, and then sink a carrier to retaliate.

Congress should not unleash Obama in the ME by approving anything for him. All he will do is create another Libya and send arms to Hamas to be used against Israel.

Wait for 2 years before giving the new president any increased military power, or authorization, because it will be used by Obama to weaken the allies of the USA, and create further instability in the ME, while doing the step and fetch for Saudi Arabia..

The gutting of Libya was a war crime. Look at the country now
and compare it to what it had been. Now its a ruin, cities in rubble, and the people in poverty. The masasive successful desert irrigation system that was greening the desert is no more.

Obama was wrong to do gut Libya, he simply paved the way for jihad to enter down into the heart of Africa, in Nigeria....Obamas misguided action created and empowered Boko Haram.

SHAME!

Obamas misguided action created and empowered Boko Haram.

I do not believe Obama is misguided or incompetent. I believe that he knows exactly what he is doing and he knows why he is doing it. I believe that he hates America and what it stands for. I also believe that every action he takes is designed to weaken and eventually destroy the U.S. To sum it up, I believe that Obama is capable, evil, hates the United States and is doing everything in his power to destroy the United States of America. And last but not least, I believe that his allies and enablers within the borders and Government of the United States are legion.

The Republican response should be:

“We’ll approve the use of military force in another of your wars when you return that Nobel Peace Prize.”
