Federal Judge Strikes Down Alabama's Ban on Same-Sex Marriage BY PETE WILLIAMS A federal judge in Mobile, Alabama, on Friday struck down the state's ban on same-sex marriage, bringing the number of states that allow same-sex couples to marry to 37.
"There has been no evidence presented that these marriage laws have any effect on the choices of couples to have or raise children, whether they are same-sex couples or opposite-sex couples. In sum, the laws in question are an irrational way of promoting biological relationships in Alabama," wrote Federal District Court Judge Callie V.S. Granade.

The think they are philosopher kings.
Homos and their friends and enablers are everywhere in business and government.
Judges get their start on the bench by sucking up to politicians. I have in over 80+ years never seen a judge who I could bow to out of respect but I have been bowed by evil people in courts.
Agree. Nothing short of a revolt will stop what is now an inexorably march to Sodom and Gomorrah.
8 years of Clinton deferral judges and now 8 more years of Obama appointees, many of their appointment aided and abetted by Republicans like McCain and Graham. We now large majorities of federal court judges appointed by liberals including several openly gay federal judges. When will the peasants rise up and revolt?
Another one to the retribution list should the revolution occur
What's that supposed to mean?
It can only mean one thing: IMPEACH. High crimes and misdemeanors? How about failing to protect and defend the Constitution by ignoring and violating its plain meaning?
The same dame is responsible for this decision: "EWTN: Global Catholic Television Network (EWTN), a Catholic-themed television network founded in 1980 in a garage studio by a nun, has been denied protection from the HHS contraception mandate following a decision yesterday by Mobile, Ala. District Judge Callie V. Granade."
My guess is that we're talking about an apostate Catholic, probably of the lesbian persuasion. She's a 65-year-old woman with a real animus against morality.
-- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Charles Hammond, Aug 18, 1821"The germ of dissolution of our federal government is in the constitution of the federal judiciary; an irresponsible body, (for impeachment is scarcely a scare-crow) working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped from the States, and the government of all be consolidated into one."
"The great object of my fear is the federal judiciary. That body, like gravity, ever acting, with noiseless foot, and unalarming advance, gaining ground step by step, and holding what it gains, is engulfing insidiously the special governments into the jaws of that which feeds them."-- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Judge Spencer Roane, Mar 9, 1821
"The judiciary of the United States is the subtle corps of sappers and miners constantly working under ground to undermine the foundations of our confederated fabric. They are construing our constitution from a co-ordination of a general and special government to a general and supreme one alone."-- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Thomas Ritchie, December 25, 1820
I agree Impeach...
No judge should ever feel comfortable stating that a state or federal congress was being “irrational” when they passed laws.
If the judicial branch insists on legislating from the bench, then it should be subject to the same checks as the legislative branch- that is, its members should be elected for finite terms and ideally term limited.
With all due respect to the judge, he is wrongly ignoring the Constitution in the following way imo. The states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect gay rights issues such as gay marriage. So no judges or justices have any constitutionally enumerated gay rights protections to apply to the states via the 14th Amendment to stop any state from making 10th Amendment-protected laws which prohibit constitutionally unprotected gay marriage.
>> May all these ungodly Judges rue the day they chose evil over good
Oh, they will. They will.
Gosh, I don’t recall the federal government EVER being granted the power to tell a state how to define marriage within its own borders.
The Tenth amendment applies.
i guess the citizens of the state didn’t choose the appropriate option on the last ‘election’
time for a fedgov judge to correct it for us.
any woman judge, regardless who appointed them, is going to go the purely emotional route, guaranteed. Sandra Day O’Connor, a Reagan appointee, was one of the culprits who made sodomy into a state-promoted “civil right,” after all.
It’s past time. If Congress had the stones, and a desire to curtail the overreach of many in the judiciary, they would begin impeaching these judges. They would not stop at one. There should be a purging of many, and not only at the district level. Until judges realize that they are accountable for their freelancing, they will not stop.
I know. Gingrich is the only one who’s voiced a plan or desire to do that, that I know of. I hope if we can somehow get a conservative into office that he will tap Gingrich and sic him on them.
I’m just about there too.
