Thanks to nutball green policies like closing nuclear power plants and mandated renewable energies, they have the highest electric rates in the EU.
Perhaps the poor they care about so much would benefit from civilized costs for electricity and a little less worship of Gaia.

low wages were cutting back on food and heating, among other things, to save money. On the bright side, lowering caloric intake and reducing the amount of energy to heat a home reduces a man's carbon footprint.
