Australians fighting for Isis reportedly killed in battle for Kobani

Australians were among the largest contingent of foreign jihadists killed in the battle for Kobani, a senior US state department official has said, after Kurdish forces announced the “liberation” of the Syrian city on Monday.

A coalition of Kurdish and Syrian rebel fighters claimed full control over Kobani, located less than a mile from the Turkish border, after a bloody four-month siege by the militia group known as Islamic State (Isis or Isil).

Their victory was confirmed by a senior US state department official on Tuesday, who told AFP: “[Isis] is now, whether on order or whether they are breaking ranks, is beginning to withdraw from the town.”

A “hugely, hugely significant” number of foreign fighters were killed in the battle, he said, nominating Australia, Belgium, Canada and Chechnya as major source countries.

Doubt they were “real” Australians.

Mahmoud Abdullatif and Ahmed Mohammed Al-Ghazzawi sound like good old Australian names, that’s for sure. I bet they were Anglican. /sarcasm

It’s amazing the mentality of some people. They are lucky enough to escape the hell hole they came from and move somewhere nice like Australia. The more generous their adopted country is, the more they hate it. Finally, they find an oportunity to go to a miserable country like Syria and make it even worse. There whole mindset is nothing but hate and spreading misery.

If they were fighting with the bearded savages they were not Australians.

Australia had danm well better wake up and get rid of the bearded bastards or they’ll have an terrorist attack. Wait...they already had one and didn’t wake up.

The USA had a big one and didn’t wake up. France. England. Spain. India.

Instead, the attackers were transformed into a government-certified victim group, enabled to get their way in whatever they want.

It seems to me that political correctness could be accused of spreading terror in foreign nations now.

This blows a hole in conservatives being interventionists.

Michael Safi refers to quote liberation unquote of Kobane, but he was swilling that in quote The Guardian unquote.
