Jesse Ventura Won't See 'American Sniper'; Says Chris Kyle Is No Hero

American Sniper is tops at the box office but don’t expect to see former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura lining up at a theater for it.

Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit last year against the estate of the late Chris Kyle, the SEAL protagonist of the movie, which has sparked debate over whether snipers should be considered heroes. Ventura said Wednesday he won’t see the film partly because Kyle is no hero to him.

"A hero must be honorable, must have honor. And you can’t have honor if you’re a liar. There is no honor in lying," Ventura told The Associated Press from his winter home in Baja California, Mexico. He also noted that the movie isn’t playing there.

Looked up what real Seals had to say about Ventura. They would know right, especially if they worked with him? Found one post that was particularly helpful:

When he was an announcer in the then WWF he was known as a “heel”. Well, it looks like nothing has changed.

SOFREP? Really? Weak article at best, written by a guy that never served with Jesse (WAY too young to have served with Jesse) and only claiming because Jesse went to BUD/S that makes him a SEAL. Sycophants of Jesse. Go ask him now how he feels about it.

“About 80% of what Reagan believed was libertarian.”

No, that only works by giving less weight to the important issues you want to ignore.

Three legs of the stool, Reagan knew each one was as important as the sum total of the other two. Remove any part and you have zero.

“Ok, there’s no making you see sense.”

Typical argument of a liberal: “You must be wrong because I think you make no sense.”

“So you know better than another SEAL, I get it.”

No, you don’t get it. You found one guy willing to let Jesse call himself a SEAL and you make claim that ALL SEALs must agree. Well, they don’t, sister. I don’t know a single frog that agrees, including our own FReeper Travis McGee.

Not suggesting for a moment that Chris Kyle was not for the most part a hero, but Kyle was caught out saying other things that turned out to be untrue, such as incidents involving him shooting looters after Katrina and shooting carjackers, despite local authorities categorically denying that such incidents ever took place. Andy McNab made similar claims about his time in the SAS leading the bravo two zero patrol, telling tales of fighting his way through hundreds of Iraqi soldiers that his fellow patrol member and author Chris Ryan flat out denied ever happened and which were contradicted by local Iraqis and official records.

“He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword.”

People quote that quote all the time. It means more for people who kill for the sake of killing and has nothing to do with protecting those around us. Jesus told his apostles if they didn’t have a sword to sell their cloak and buy them. In those days there were highway robbers too and they killed to steal from others. They were to buy those swords to defend themselves as they journeyed. That’s what I believe that quote to mean.

Yet Peter was trying to defend those around him when he drew his sword and struck.

And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him. And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? - Matthew, Catholic chapter twenty six, Protestant verses fifty through fifty four, as authorized by King James

It is not as if the Apostles, who did not live by the sword, but by every word which proceeds from the mouth of God, for most of them perished by violence according to the scriptures and tradition, including Cephas/Peter.

I see two lessons. One who wields the sword, so to speak, must
  1. operate under lawful orders
  2. expect the same violence he renders.

Maybe so but he would know better than I. If you read the article he’s certainly no fan of Ventura. There is talk of removing him from the fraternal order.

If Jesse had been offered a role in American Sniper he would have snapped-up the paycheck in about two seconds.

Correct, I have no time for any liberaltarians, all they are is a wolf in sheeps clothing looking to tell conservatives and republicans that they’re wrong on border control, homosexuality, incest, age of consent, drugs etc.

Grammatical correction:

It is not as if the Apostles lived by the sword, but rather by every word which proceeds from the mouth of God, yet most of them perished by violence according to the scriptures and tradition, including Cephas/Peter.

Well, yes.
But saying the exacting truth about him would be..... catastrophic.
