The Romney Statement: Not Running. "I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party...."

I’ve been emailed this text of remarks Mitt Romney will be making to his supporters shortly:

Let me begin by letting you know who else is on this call, besides Ann and me. There are a large number of people who signed on to be leaders of our 2016 finance effort. In addition, state political leadership from several of the early primary states are on the line. And here in New York City, and on the phone, are people who have been helping me think through how to build a new team, as well as supporters from the past who have all been kind enough to volunteer their time during this deliberation stage. Welcome, and thank you. Your loyalty and friendship, and your desire to see the country with new, competent and conservative leadership warms my heart.

After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the Party the opportunity to become our next nominee.

Yes, as a regular Rush listener, I know Rush has always said that he doesn’t endorse ANYONE in the primaries.

His accolades for Walker go way back...and are more complimentary than I’ve heard him speak of most other recent, potential candidates. Maybe that’s why he likely received the deluge of emails...to set him straight on Walker’s positions.

Agree that Gowdy is another amnesty supporter. Who does that leave for the running?

These anti-Walker trolls are such amateurs. They sign up just to trash Walker.

Do they get paid by the word or by the paragraph?

Have you read the links that quote his statements on amnesty? He is 100% "for LEGAL immigration" and that's a direct quote. Look it up.

That's to fool Conservatives.

Besides, the numerous statements he has made over the issue of illegal criminal invaders clearly shows that he will work with the Chamber of Communists and their buddies on Congress to make that(illegal invaders) which is now "illegal" legal.

Please don't fall for he rhetorical foolishness.

I really can be taken serious on my likes or dislikes. I live in a Blue State so my vote will not matter in one whit, but if you read my tag line, I mean every word of it.

I like what Cruz says very much, but if I live long enough to see another election, I will write in Sarah Palin. The younger among us will have to decide who will be the candidate, if in fact they actually have any say in the matter.

North Easter Liberals have long decide who our candidate will be and they have changed the rules again to make their voice much more powerful. I for my own well being will worry no more about it, until the hordes are in the streets.

I agree. I like Cruz best of all and I don’t think Sarah Palin has any interest in running. I think she’ll be on Team Cruz.

I was (am?) holding out hope for Governor’s Kasich, Perry and Walker, but I’m somewhat concerned with their mixed messages regarding amnesty as reported in the MSM.

I thought Romney running was going to help Cruz and company, so I was disappointed only for that reason when I heard he was not running.

I see, you admit misquoting Walker, now you claim to have the ability to read his mind and heart.

LOL. Most politicians lie.

I know enough about politicians to state with near certainty that in regards to Amnesty if Walker is elected, he will most certainly move hard left and do the bidding of the Chamber of Commerce and the evil GOPe.

How does having a Mexican birth certificate help an illegal alien gain “legal status” LEGALLY? Walker has said he supports LEGAL immigration. What we have now is an illegal alien living in the White House issuing “executive orders” as a dictator would do, to give Mexicans this fictional/unconstitutional “legal status”. How is it Walker’s fault?

Furthermore, doesn’t a Mexican birth certificate make them Mexicans, not Americans? And what is “legal status”?

What we have here is an epic “fuster cluck” that WI Governor Walker is trying to muddle through as best he can for the people living in his state, IMO.

You are correct. He is already moving left in his own state over the last month.

If Jeb Bush gets the nomination I am going to sit out the 2016 presidential election. It would make the first election I have ever sat out since I became eligible to vote in 1984.

Governor Walker isn’t like most politicians. He does what he says. Read what he has accomplished in WI to turn a Rat state around, winning two regular elections and two recall elections, beating off viscous union attacks and getting the state back under fiscal control. This man is SOLID TEA PARTY.

Get on-board the Walker express.

Typical counter argument used by the liberals. Nothing to substantiate the argument, so just throw out bad language and unsubstantiated statements. Are you sure you are not a liberal?

Analysis I heard tonight was that he had forgotten how nasty and exhausting it is to run. So after three weeks of this he decided that by the time he won (if), he would be too tired to win against a Democrat.
