Tensions between Russia and the UK have heightened after it was revealed that the Russian bomber intercepted by RAF fighter jets was carrying a nuclear missile designed to destroy Trident submarines.

The TU-95 aircraft were spotted on long range radar flying down from Scotland towards the English Channel, where they were close to entering British airspace, the Sunday Express report.

>Ministry of Defence sources revealed the ‘seek and find’ nuclear warhead missile which can destroy the British Vanguard submarines which form the country’s nuclear deterrent.

When they refer to a missile designed to seek and find Vanguard-class Trident missile subs, do they mean a missile that detects submerged SSBNs?

These are the times when the downgraded armed forces of an obamanation makes it’s biggest impression.

“Ministry of Defence sources revealed the ‘seek and find’ nuclear warhead missile which can destroy the British Vanguard submarines which form the country’s nuclear deterrent.”

The Russians may well have missiles that can FIND and DESTROY our best nuclear subs, but we spend 5 TIMES AS MUCH on our military.

...so we have NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, nothing at all.

Right?

It depends. More and more of that 5 times as much is siphoned off into social programs.

Just a Test—Hey UK, President Putin asks you to reconsider your statements on the Ukraine. Maybe you should think about maybe lowering some of those sanctions you have been putting in place. Our pilots are very good—but sometimes mistakes happen.... It would be a darn shame if one had a bit too much vodka and pushed the wrong button while he was over England. Real shame to lose a sub or a base—or a city.

“It depends. More and more of that 5 times as much is siphoned off into social programs.”

EXACTLY...something tells me that the Russians get MUCH MORE for their money than we do, even though others here seem to think that the top-line number is the ONLY FACTOR that counts when determining military strength.

Losing a sub or a base would be a big deal. Losing a city like Birmingham or London, these days, probably wouldn’t mean too many Brit deaths.

It was rumored 2 decades ago that we could follow Russia’s nuke subs due to the heat released by the reactors into the water, above a certain depth.

Given how badly our tech has been rifled by the Chinese and Russians, who’s to say they haven’t come up with a similar tech?

Having poorly trained, poorly equipped, one year draftees saves money as well, for Russia.

you don't drop a nuke and blow up anything. They aren't like regular bombs with a detonator in the nose...They must be programmed with codes etc., this takes more than one person...in order for that bomb to explode, more than one or two must want it to do so.
