“It’s always something...”
Thank you, “Nana” Roseannadanna.
.
That thing has 4, countem’, 4 props!
4 and another 4: That makes 8
Its always something...
Thank you, Nana Roseannadanna.

You’re quite welcome. It’s something I learned many years ago from my Grandmother who said it before television was invented.
(Consider this: where do you think Roseannadanna learned that phrase? Answer, from someone’s Grandmother.) There is another freeper whose Mother and Grandmother always said it, too.
Ol’ jug-ears will keep on top of it or at least read about it in the newspaper.
” Answer, from someones Grandmother.)

Since I’m a grandmother myself I’ve had to start saying it more. :-)
.
There are air-launched torpedoes and missile-torpedo hybrids to engage submarines (it flies to a zone of submarine operations and when submerges to engage as a torpedo) outside classic torpedo range but these are carried by Il-38 or Tu-142.
“Having poorly trained, poorly equipped, one year draftees saves money as well, for Russia.”
They didn’t seem to have much trouble scaring the crap out of England with their “second rate” military, as you see it. Or for that matter, scaring the crap out of a US pilot, making him flee for his life over Sweden last summer.
But then again, your side seems to think that are militaries haven’t changed at all in the past two decades...so I’m not surprised by your comment.
Except those things never happened, you don’t seem to realize that Russia still depends on 1 year draftees, who are poorly trained and equipped.
Putin knows the reality his military faces if the Brits and America and NATO ever has to deal with it on the battlefield, or the Air, or the Sea.
I’ve seen this on the internet for a few day on several different sites but a lot of FReepers don’t want to see the sources or anything about Russia so I didn’t post.
there’s more if you search
Thanks.
This story, in its hysterical tone, could have been put in any newspaper from 1950 forward. That's when this TU-95 was probably built, too. International airspace is just that, open to any nation's aircraft, For years, we and the Soviets had nuclear-armed bombers aloft in it 24/7. In fact, the USAF accidentally dropped a few nukes .... one in Spain IIRC, and another in South Carolina that was never found! Big Whoop. . "Encroaching on British or US Airspace?" OK. 5-yd penalty. Replay the down.
Yes, these are giant turboprop lumbering beasts (and they are capable of just over 500 mph, making them just about the fastest propeller aircraft ever!) have a 10,000 NM range and stay aloft for days. One of their favorite training flights used to be the USSR-Cuba run ... non-stop, no refueling. Yes, they can carry nuclear (and non-nuclear) weapons, usually standoff Air to Surface anti-ship weapons, and cruise missiles. Yes, they would be a potential danger. However, in the event of any hostilities, they wouldn't last very long either.
We fly. They fly, The Brits fly. The Frogs fly. Soon the CHICOM will fly. Every nation that has a bomber force flies them all around as often as they can afford. Fly. It's what Air Forces do.
Article is crap. Breitbart should be ashamed to run it.

The U.K.s Royal Air Force scrambled fighter jets on Thursday after a pair of nuclear-capable Russian bombers
And the U.S. Navy is talking about replacing the Grumman C-2’s with Osprey’s. Go figure.
Yes, they do. The Vanguard class SSBN is the Brit launch platform, part of our NATO partnership.
This provocation is a big, effing deal. They are baiting a response. Question is, did the Brits scramble fighters? Have to read full article.

No, it wasn’t heat— it was noise. The patterns of all existing russkie units are databased. They have a signature. The real danger is the newer electric diesels which are more of a challenge in the noise department.
True on our side... not so much on theirs. Has been posited rather exhaustively that a soviet sub had a renegade captain who was targeting Midway Naval Base with missiles when either a torpedo or a missile (not warhead) exploded on board sinking the sub. The sub, partially recovered by Howard Hughes built “mining” ship that was totally CIA owned. Buried the dead Russians at sea with honors, when recovered.
Weren't they already buried at sea?
