Voting-rights advocates are threatening to sue California which has one of the nations lowest voter-registration rates unless the state starts complying with a 20-year-old federal law that requires the Department of Motor Vehicles to make it easy for people to sign up to vote when they apply for a drivers license or identification card.

Be glad when San Andreas blows up and the state falls into the Pacific.
California isn’t Democratic enough.
Motor... voter. And, if the licenses don’t have an “Illegal/undocumented” class, how is the vote registrar to know or tell the difference between illegal and legal voters?
I suppose you’re one of those bigoted jerks that doesn’t believe that Felipe Saurez’s undocumented dog has the Right to Vote in Californistan...
Anyone in CA capable of critical thought understands the vote process in CA has been undermined, compromised and subverted...
It’s a waste of time to vote in CA.
No joke.
All you need to vote is a State License. Dog, driver, all the same, as long as its good ID.
So, for 20 years we haven’t complied and registration rates are still low. Maybe some residents simply don’t care enough to do their civic duty. We better give it another 20 years, just to be sure.
Oh C’mon now! It’s a felony to register to vote when you’re not a citizen. Don’t you think all those illegals know that? Surely they would not risk breaking the law. So what are you all up in arms about? /s
Yes, go read this:
Our married daughter has not lived with us for about 15 years, and yet we cannot get the Elections Department to remove her name from the voter rolls here in Contra Costa County despite the fact that she’s lived in Sonoma County for 8 years and is registered there. Califiornia is in violation of Federal Laws regarding the requirements that voter rolls be purged of ineligible voters and that the state’s counties are required to have a common database to catch and remove people who have moved from one county to another. The Feds have given CA “waivers” for these requirements since 2003 and the State also does not share death certificate info with the County Elections Departments so it’s estimated that 10% of our “dead people” continue to vote. And we look at places like NJ, MD and IL as seats of corruption!
You don't get it?
Anyone in CA capable of critical thought understands the vote process in CA has been undermined, compromised and subverted...
Its a waste of time to vote in CA. It's corrupted to the core.
Time to reboot.
Fixed it.
CA is a prime example of the Nanny State. The proletariat have bread and circuses and don’t care about anything or anyone else. A substantial percentage of the population are not citizens and have no interest in becoming citizens.
And voter reg is low because DMV attaches a form instead of making one form? I don’t think so.
“Oh Cmon now! Its a felony to register to vote when youre not a citizen. Dont you think all those illegals know that? “
Sure they do, but they’ve already broken multiple laws ( some of which are also felonies) in coming here in the first place. It’s just like gun laws. Criminals are already prohibited by law from possessing guns, but to you really think they give a rat’s ass?
LOL! "Citizen" Barky Gonzalez. :)
DMV are notorious for not making anything easy. Sept 2014 I spent over 3 hours from the time I first talked to the GA employee to the time I was finished. (longer than the wait in the short line as I went on a day I knew to have shorter lines.) Getting my drivers license (no road test) took all the time. Getting registered to vote was just a push of one key on the computer.
Well Texas is working hard to replace California when it’s gone, what with the liberals radiating out from the from the university towns and all the mijo’s and mija’s coming across their borders, hell I’ve read about liberal B.S. being pushed in Texas schools that hasn’t even been thought of yet in California. And how’s those Castro boy’s workin out for Texas?
There is a lot of payback coming to government apparatchiks when they succeed in overwhelming the system.
They think they're going to be in charge when it does.
I used to live in CCC and there was a big story about a guy that successfully registered his dog to vote. Mistake he made was registering it as Republican. Or, maybe he was a liberal and it was no mistake.
