Harry Reid: 'I'm running' in 2016
politico.com ^ | 2/10/15 | Manu Raju

Sen. Harry Reid summoned dozens of staffers to the Senate’s Mansfield Room Tuesday and delivered a clear message: He’s running for reelection next year.

The comments are in part aimed at putting to rest growing speculation inside the Senate that the 75-year-old Nevada Democrat — badly hurt from a painful injury to his right eye — would call it quits after nearly three decades in the chamber. The Senate minority leader faces what could be a difficult reelection race next year, plus his would-be successors are ready to run the Democratic Caucus the moment he calls it quits.

But Reid told roughly 50 aides at an unusual all-staff briefing just off the Senate floor that he is definitely running in 2016, prompting a round of applause, according to attendees. And in a brief interview with POLITICO, Reid made clear that he’s directed his top political aide, Rebecca Lambe, to continue hiring senior-level staff, including a campaign manager.

“I talked to Rebecca this week, they are still interviewing people, the answer is yes,” Reid said when asked if he was 100 percent committed to running.

Asked if there was anything that could change his mind, Reid said: “I’m running. You asked a question that has no answer. I’m going to run.”

In the 2010 election, the Nevada GOP Governor won by 53 to 41 percent... and yet Harry Reid won his Senate seat with 50.3 percent of the vote. Somehow, 9 percent of all Nevada voters opted for a non-incumbent Republican governor but an incumbent Democrat Senator. Out of 680,000 voters, 60,000 went this route. Simply stunning, but entirely circumstantial, evidence of voter fraud to keep this corrupt jackal in office.

(His son, very coincidentally, was in charge of the unit of people who oversaw the handling of the voting machines in the state that year. Ahem.)

It wasn’t a surprise. The NV GOP put up a BAD and highly unpopular nominee who already had blown two races in a row. Any other credible GOP nominee would’ve won (and Sharron Angle was the nominee Reid wanted and got).

Apologies for insulting our canine companions.

Unfortunately Harry, for many reasons, is running straight to hell.

Why in the hell would someone as old and wealthy as he is want to screw around with being a Senator? I believe I’d walk away and find a nice place to live the rest of my days, stress free. Hell, he probably won’t live but another 10 - 15 years.

Wasn’t he injured by running? Away from or on his treadmill. Oh yes, I remember, his treadmill bucked him off, causing the eye injury.
