Yes, there are going to be problems... the “wild donkey of a man” is still running around very much alive there. Nuances can still be seen. Not all nominally Islamic societies are equally bad, nor are all Arabic peoples.

If you believe as I do, that the current battles are about solidifying the borders of the Kurdish region, Kirkuk has been ceded to ISIL. It is apparently beyond the desired Kurdish boundary.
The city is within the new Sunni controlled region that is neither Kurd nor Shia. Therefore, neither the Peshmerga nor the Shia militia will fight for it.
The first thought must be that Iraq is no more. The nation was split asunder into three. Kurd, Sunni/Isil and Shia

It isn’t necessarily irreversible, but recovery depends on us being willing to turn back to the Lord and accept His grace. technically it is called repentance, but we have to remember that all we can do is come before the Lord bankrupt with empty souls and hands and ask to be filled again, dedicating these new gains back to the Lord. We can’t even present Him one good work of our own.

I don’t believe it was “ripped apart” The seams have been there forever. What is in progress is re-establishing just precisely where the seams are.
The Ottoman empire existed with these internal regions. The Brits and the Frogs divided up the territory with no regard to the existing religious and tribal boundaries. Those very old boundaries that are now a little vague are being solidified.
Regarding ISIL, I think Russia and 1917. The revolutions was stolen by the communists. The radical fanatic wackos are trying to steal the revolution in the Sunni territory that was previously part of both Syria and Iraq. That theft became possible when Obama deserted the coalition in say November of 2013.
I think ISIL is being allowed to do this boundary work. Once it is done, the adults will take control as they did in Egypt. Keep in mind that much of the wacko force is zealots from elsewhere. That is from relative comfortable else where. I think they will not chose to live in the desert villages and will return from whence they came.
The real important fact is that we do not really know what is happening. Since Obama always lies about everything, he is totally untrustworthy. The real work, minus Obama who is left out , is being done off stage.

Your observation is all the proof anyone needs that even Bush, after 9-11, failed to do what was needed to destroy the threat that islam is. He fought a limited, PC war that never even came remotely close to attriting the militant to the degree that, historically, is necessary to DO the job.
