Relying on Muslim fundamentalists' adherence to some supposed code or rules is a fool's errand.
The 'rules' are infinitely malleable to the average jihadi savage. For example, it may be prohibited in Islam to kill women and children, but the sheethead merely rationalizes that the intended victims are not actually to be considered to be women and children, but rather they fall into some other category for which it is permissible to kill them (such as people who make war against Islam).
Same thing with the supposed Muslim prohibition against "suicide" - if the goal is mass murder in the name of Mohammed by killing one's self in order to kill others, then that is not considered to be 'suicide'.
And so on.
The lesson being that you can never trust the word of a devout Muslim, because there is always an escape clause. They had their fingers crossed. It's always OK to lie to a non-believer in order to gain advantage (a.k.a. 'what would Mohammed do').
BS. They have been doing that many times. Her "boyfriend" delivered her into their custody. This "story" is just that, a fictitious account to Cover His Ass.
I would have thought that her anti-Israeli protesting would have protected her. Instead, she got eaten by her own.

Millions of Americans mistake a crippling, lethal failure to confront unpleasant truth and to face unpleasant reality for "idealism."

They fail to think clearly and thoroughly enough to understand that truth itself is the greatest ideal and leads to the greatest benevolence and most benevolent actions.

This scorn of truth, itself an evil, is a manifestation of the dangerous and evil assumption, fundamental to Western decadence, that the end justifies the means.
What she botched was her safety plan. She should never have gone there. She and thousands of other do gooders with their heads in the clouds have Rachel Corrie Disease. They won’t learn until it’s too late. They don’t understand if/when they get killed, they won’t be able to carry on with their work. As if there aren’t problems in their own American neighborhoods they could devote their energies.

Well, well, well. That’s interesting to say the least.
Reminds me of the missionary in THE SAND PEBBLES who declares himself a “Stateless Person” and is then shot dead by the people he is trying to help.
Not quite accurate. ISIS will not hold a Muslim man’s wife hostage unless he's the wrong kind of Muslim.
She probably did not want to deny Jesus - her and her husband’s faith in order to pose as an evil Islamist.
See 30. Probably wanted her death to bring attention to her cause or in other words, she wanted martyrdom.
Too true. I find the "boyfriend"'s story very suspect. Although the family rejects the suggestion that he sold her out to ISIS, it still looms as a strong possibility.
