American Sniper: Carrying Her Husband's Dog Tags, Taya Kyle Stuns at the Oscars

Taya Kyle, the widow of American Sniper and Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, stunned at the Oscars last night in Hollywood. She arrived on the red carpet in a beautiful green dress, carrying her husband's dog tags.

Although American Sniper didn't win best picture last night from the Academy, it certainly has won over Americans. The movie has grossed a whopping $400 million since its opening in January, breaking all kinds of records. The film received six Oscar nominations overall and according to Forbes, is one of the top grossing best picture nominees of all time. Alan Robert Murray and Bub Asman won an Oscar in the category of sound editing for the film.

Taya Kyle returned to Texas overnight for the continuation of the trial for the man who killed her husband.

"I am in beautiful Southern California courtesy of Warner Brothers who have been exceptional to work with in every aspect. Turns out they are like the fairy GodMother for a regular woman who has kids, a murder trial for her beloved and dear friend and am honestly exhausted," Kyle wrote on her Facebook page Sunday. "I wanted to support everyone who made this movie representing real veteran families, but I didn't think I had the energy to show up at the Oscars, let alone be presentable. So, I find myself in a surreal position...like Cinderella who scrubs the floors but has a fairy Godmother (Warner Brothers) who got me on a plane and had a dress and jewelry and even the shoes and spanx waiting for me...And so it is. I am here. To represent my husband, military families and the beautiful people who put more than they had to to make this movie happen. I have a red eye flight scheduled to get me back for the trial on Monday morning. I am praying the impending ice storm in Texas doesn't inhibit a safe trip home. I hope I look better for the evening tonight. I am blessed to have my beautiful loving sister with me to hold my hand and dry my tears from what is sure to be an emotional evening. It's by the Grace of God and the support of people like you who literally give me the energy to get out of bed each day and see the beauty through the ashes of my life. I hope the same for all of you. We all struggle and we all have to find the strength to fight another day. I know I am not alone. The details may be different but our stories of fighting on, finding the strength to help ourselves and accepting the help of others when we can ... Our constant fight to get on a path to renewal is always common ground - it's the human condition. God Bless you all."

I hope she is profiting financially from the success of this movie and can recover from the Jesse Ventura mudbath.

Wow, that dress is great.
Not sure how it is staying up, must be superglue involved, but she looks great.

Showing the world once again that the Oscar awards are just a song and dance show for Hollywood liberals to kiss their own asses and give themselves awards for toeing the liberal line.

No, you are not the only one. And the travesty is deliberatly being played down or stifled altogether.

The photo should be on the front page of the NY Slimes....and it would be if it were a conservative guy preening and porning on the Oscar stage.

I know this is not a popular opinion here, but they made the correct choice on Best Movie. Bird man was so unusual in a technical sense it truly was a remarkable achievement. best Movie is not for best story or most popular.

When watching the Oscars, the technical and difficulty aspects of a movie come into play. And Birdman was superior in those aspects.

As entertainment, AS was a truly great movie that will be popular for a long time. Birdman will be shown in art schools.

That’s just the way it is.

As I was watching the very end last night, it struck me that for just about every movie made, there is someone in the audience who thinks it’s the best movie ever made. I know my library has some “guilty pleasures.” My point is that people that get too worked up about the Oscars miss the point. If YOU like it...it’s the best picture of the year. And you know if it makes a ton of money, you will see more of their ilk.

And I loved Keaton’s homage to Beetlejuice in his moment in the sun.

I’m surprised no one said anything about it. I don’t watch the Oscars, but saw it this morning. Trump said something about it being boring and classless, but never mentioned the underwear stunt.

So this is what Hollywood thinks is what everyone needs to see. Some gay guy parading around in his tight underwear. No wonder no one watches anymore.

“Alan Robert Murray and Bub Asman won an Oscar in the category of sound editing for the film.”

A bone flung in the general direction of the film to pretend it was given real Oscar consideration. I haven’t watched the lefty awards in a couple decades, and never will again.

You guys hit the nail on the head. The American people voted with their wallets along with others around the world. It was and is the best picture of the year. Screw Hollywood.

.....Or rather, Americans have sent a message to Hollywood with their interest, win, lose, or draw in regards to “American Sniper” that those who serve or have served in the armed forces of the USA were able to make events like the Oscars possible.

You would think the top grossing movie would win best picture. Hollywood has proven itself to be just like Congress.. It does NOT represent the people!

Failing to mention Joan Rivers was outright egregious and insensitive. I guess Michelle O called and said "NO, don't you DARE!"

And what about a 'lifetime achievement award' for Clint Eastwood??? The man is 84 years old. Most of us couldn't direct a movie at 64 years old!

Hollywood, YOU SUCK and FU.

Also got to take into consideration that it was also, “Birdman” an honor to how Michael Keaton’s acting career took off, which was not only from”Beetlejuice” but from him bringing back to life “Batman”.
